I was serving the Barrow Downs when I came across this topic I was thinking, "Well who would have played Boromir if it hadn't been Sean Bean."
And someone is saying Danny Devito. I am quite okay with peoples different opinions but him playing Boromir. I am amazed this suggestion wasn'ty made in Middle-Earth mirth!!!!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!! If DeVito would play Boromir I would never be able to live in Peace again. *Sigh* Okay I am better now. I just had to rant because if I started ranting allowed in the library the librarian will be all over me.

Um, isn't Danny Devito a bit old and fat to play Boromir? I mean they'd have to have people pulling him up onto horses with ropes and fighting would be impossible. Also he'd look like a dwarf as he is a bit short.

Sean Bean was an ok Boromir. The only reason I say that, however, is because they didn't go as in depth as I had hoped. You can only fit so much into 3 1/2 hours. But what really sparked my interest in Sean Bean was extra footage he was in concerning Faramir's flashback in the Two Towers. His work in that one scene was otherworldly or Middle-earthly....ha ha ha....oh nevermind...

Sarcasm is a lost art...
Can no one recognize good satire and whimsey anymore? Danny DeVito was a JOKE suggestion folks, nothing more.
![]() Although I think Don Knotts might have done better as Aragorn... ![]()

For those of you who didn't recognize the Danny DeVito suggestion as a joke: how about casting him and his wife, Rhea Pearlman (Carla on Cheers) as the Sackville-Baggins'...now that I could see

Mirabella, that's positively inspired! And you wouldn't have to have any special tricks to make him look hobbit-height...
