Ah, Kath's close enough.
According to the article in the Special Edition of Entertainment Weekly (RE: "The Costumer; Ngila Dickson) "Since the grays, greens, and yellows that represented the color scheme for most Elves clashed with Liv Tyler's complexion, she was outfitted in more complementary reds and blues. " Kath has the floor, so to speak.
