Speaking of Pippin, I only just noticed (actually someone's pointed out to me while watching Fellowship) that he wears a muffler all the time. It's very cute, it looks like a kids' muffler and it makes him look even more childish. I think that's quite a nice touch... No other hobbit wears one.
I have to say the muffler had all my attention after I noticed its existence

I kept bursting into laughter for no apparent reason...
