Another favorite thread of mine. If nobody minds I'd like to pose a new question here? Familiarity with Saucepan's cryptic techniques will be helpful.

1. there’s one for meat, and one for scrambling the short world contained.

2. Legolas = young lady lawyer takes a shot in the dark

3. Iris = Deep purple sword-bearer of Ithilien

4. Ye gods! It's Elton John’s single sensational sister

5. Airy entrance for merpeople, and "well met" at that

6. Beer Mona! I’ve been lonely far too long.

7. Boy precedes one small ball walking backwards.

I'm glad you've resurrected this thread - I wouldn't call myself good at these but they're fun to try to figure out anyway.

2 - Legolas? Young lady - lass, lawyer - ?, and Legolas took a shot in the dark when he shot at the Nazgûl's steed over the Anduin.

Yes, It most certainly is Legolas. And I must say, I pillaged the clue from Phrim earlier in the thread. Young Lady Lawyer = Legal-lass

1. is the hardest clue in the game
3. is a straight clue and has nothing to do with the band Deep Purple

4. appropriate song title should provide a substantial clue. Original clue has been modified.
