When you use LotR to aid in playing the game Taboo.

For those not familiar with the game, the idea is to get your teammates to say the word written on the card, by giving them hints without using certain words which are also on the card. Very tricksy sometimes.

So, I was playing this game the other day and the word I had to guess was "fool." My boyfriend gave me the clue "Blank of a Took" and needless to say I got it right away.

We still lost.

When you come to work in a blazer, and realise it's the first time in about six months--well, no, really longer than that-- that you haven't dressed as either an elf or a hobbit; and then you find yourself thinking, "Frodo would have enjoyed a blazer like this if he had had the chance to buy one. Really, he'd look nice in it."

Then you look in the mirror, and belatedly realise that the elvish blue-and-white shell-necklace you are wearing clashes rather badly with Rae's Lorien leaf that is *still* hanging on the same chain as your cross, and you realise it has been there ever since you want to the LOTR exhibit... **a week ago**.

When you break up with a significant other for argueing with you over obvious points in The Silmarillion. They were under the impression that there was only ONE Minas Tirith! Well, then I guess Finrod's citadel was a shack on a rock.

Sounds like a Tolkien soap opera to me... all sorts of drama over speculations and Silmarillion facts. ie:

Girl: I saw you with her! I saw you! You were whispering to her, and holding hands -- by God, you were speaking in Quenya to her! You only ever speak to me in Sindarin! Am I not good enough for High-Elven???

Guy: She just reminded me of Idril Celebrindal so! I couldn't help it -- you know you're the only one for me!

Girl: I don't care! You're -- you're -- just as bad as Maedhros!

Guy: You mean Maeglin.

Girl: No! I meant what I said.

Guy: Well, I think you meant Maeglin. Note I've still got both hands?

Girl: You won't if you don't get out of here in five seconds! We're through! *slams door in his face*

Hmmm.... that was weird.

You are up at 2 am packing to leave on a trip the next day, and, instead of going to sleep when you finish, you stop to leave a note on your rpg and look at the posts in Mirth!
