Thank you!
Given by the Fair,
Abandoned in despair, Found by Hope Recovered by the Traveller. This one may be quite obscure.

Arwen Evenstar would be my guess.
Given by the Fair, Given to Aragron by her father an elf. Elves are the fair race... Abandoned in despair, Elrond tried to convince her to go to the Undying Lands. Because there was nothing but despair for her. Found by Hope Hope: The meaning of Aragorn's name Estel Recovered by the Traveller. Gandalf called Aragron 'the greatest traveller and huntsman in this age of the world' This is all I can make of it. Though I'm not certain this is the correct answer, I'm sticking with it for now anyway.

On a second thought, together with a friend of mine...
The Leaves of Lórien? Given by the Fair, Given by Galadriel. Abandoned in despair, When Merry and Pip were captured by the Uruks, they throw it away. Found by Hope Recovered by the Traveller. See my previous explanation.

Your second guess was correct. Take it away!
(only a minor correction: it was Pippin alone who dropped the leaf. The rest is correct.)

not very likely, but another guess:
Maybe the men of Middle Earth when Ar-Pharazon came to enslave them?
