I kind of agree with the above. I don't think Frodo would throw himself in, but just the ring. He would realize what he did, and his love for Sam would be great enough to get over The Ring's hatred that had been poured into him. He would throw The Ring in, just as Sam had wanted him, and in a way redeaming himself.
