As you can guess...I'm not a new member. I've recently crawled out from under my rock and thought I would check back in with the 'downs. Plus, these new forum updates are quite impressive. If you happen to read this, I apologize for the dull and lame reply. But sometimes a guy just likes to hear himself talk.

Well I want to say that I have felt very welcome and think that this is a great board and think that many of you have a great depth of intelligence that I admire.

Hello,
What a nice place. I'm one of those old Tolken fans. I had read LOTR at least seven times before I even heard about the movie. I'm certainly no expert on Tolkien, but I will probably chime in from time to time. (I'm one of those guys that makes notes in the margins.) Would love to discuss LOTR, The Silmarillion, or The Hobbit with anyone. I've read them all many times and get something new each time I re-read them. Looking forward to some wonderful discussions.

I just found this place today via the LOTR message board on the BBC, which unfortunately is full of "who do you fancy more Legolas or Aragorn" posts

Hope to have some good discussions here and meet fellow Tolkien nuts.
