But look at the pitcher Pippin uses to pour Gandalf a glass of water in Minas Tirith. It's the same pitcher. That's why they had a Hobbit scale of it.

I guess Pippin and Gandalf decided they had already had such great times with the pitcher that they brought it with them from Edoras.
