hey all im kinda new at this stuff and i was just looking around to see if i could get the names of the people in thelord of the rings its been a while sence i have watched the moves but like i said i was looking for some info and i got lost lol

Hmm.... I don't know if we have a character list anywhere. There are lists like here on RotK's IMDb site (I know you said you don't want the actors' names, but it gives the character names as well). There's also a less extensive but more descriptive list here.

Characters
The 9 of the Fellowship - Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Boromir

Of the Race of the Elves - Elrond, Galadriel, Arwen

Of the Race of Men - Theoden, Eowyn, Eomer, Denethor, and Faramir

Others - Gollum, Shelob, Sauron, Saruman

Those are some of the more important characters. If you need more info just ask and I am sure there will be other who can help more than I can.
