Much though I hate to admit that I don't know what I'm doing yet, Kath's death is still up for grabs. Does anybody feel strongly either way for her life or death?

As the writer for the girl's father, I want my close companion to stay alive, but that's really Mabalar's point of view. Either way works for me.

Do you not think that it would be beautifully bittersweet that Mabalar was saved from tragedy only to lose his daughter in the process? How would he cope, I wonder, and how would Inzi deal? Ah, the beautiful tension that it would cause in the otherwise happy ending. So very Tolkienesque, don't you think, for every victory to be a partial defeat?
