I'm not really sure that this can be the subject of any hard and fast rule. As morm said, we just need to bear in mind that we live in different time zones - and also that RL committments can sometimes prevent us posting quite as frequently as we might like. One thing, though. Can everyone make sure to post their excuses for absence in this thread, rather than the game thread. The reason being that I regard anything said in the game thread as capable of being false (given the nature of the game), whereas everything posted here should be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Folwren, I will be delighted if you do play. But may I ask that you make absolutely sure that your schedule does not mean that you could go missing for days on end. Otherwise it could influence the game quite considerably, particuarly if you are a gifted or a werewolf. I don't want to dissuade you from playing, but I just want you to be sure that you will have time to participate sufficiently.

Does it strike anyone else as odd that we have a union boss in a village of only 16 people? I hope that young Gurthang hasn't been foolish enough to pay him a subscription or anything like that ...

I was wondering that... I guess my union is basically me, although I'm surprised that you just attempted to fire your entire workforce. You'd be loading all those ships on your own! *stands there waiting for some long tail from Master Saucepan about loading crate on some far off shore.*

I'm a bit confused. Does the game start on December 3 or 4 midnight GMT?

And I think I'm a little lost. Now don't you all go picking on me because I'm just a polite little shepherd girl and you're all (well, most of you are) men of the sea.

I thought the sheep, and not Little Bo Peep, were supposed to get lost!

They've lost me, I've lost them, what difference does it make? We're all lost.

Aiwendil, I haven't the pleasure of crossing your path (that I know of) so if you please, are you female or male? Thanks. And to be sure, Formendacil, you're male, right? Thanks.

The rest of you...let's just say I might know more than I care to!

I'm male.

I'm afraid I'm unsure of the sex of several people, but I'll try to catch on as the game proceeds. What I'd give for a decent neuter pronoun . . .

I will do my utmost to not miss days on end. I'm still trying to figure it out. Regardless of what I can conjure up, I'm going to be missing whatever days take place on Saturdays and Sundays. I only have internet at work, you see.

Ah. There is a very great difficulty... I was thinking that if I were a regular ordinary villager then it might work, but if I were one of the gifted or a wolf, it wouldn't, because not only would I not have access on days, I would also not have access on nights.

I'm afraid I'll have to withdraw. Unless I can convince my dad to get internet at home, it's simply not doable. Saucepan Man's absolutely right. I wouldn't be able to participate sufficiently if I were anything other than an ordinary villager.

I'm sorry, everybody. I'm especially sorry on your account, Alcarillo. I really wanted to play this game with you as moderator. If I can possibly figure something out in order to play, I'll do it, believe me. But don't get your hopes up. Consider me out unless I suddenly hop back in.

Is your local library an option at weekends?

I don't live in town. . .besides that, I'd have to go to some huge trouble of getting parental permission, because they don't think I'm old enough to get internet by myself.

I'm on the 'Downs, aren't I? But I agree, a Werewolf-related change is called for (though I do not know my role, as yet).
