Well, the thing is life in the prairies is too Shirely (or should I say Shired?) so it's a natural fit that we like Tolkien's work.

Seriously, summer in Winnipeg is really like The Shire.... nice weather (For the most part) and if the mosquitoes are not bugging you, it's so green and pretty... people working on their lawns, deer jumping around my backyard (although that happens during winters as well) squirrel and other such animals with many children running and biking around.... and during summer, as I'm most likely not going to school, I get my six meals a day!
