Personally, I have no problem with the Audios. They are quite a good way of passing the time on a long journey. Sometimes their voices can be annoying, but I recommend the BBC audio's. Frodo is read by Ian Holm, who played Bilbo in the movie, and he sounds just right. I have read the books so I can tell you that it doesn't ruin the story, although the books are still better!
