8 AM works horribly for me. I go to bed at 11 PM and am not online again until about 8 AM. Oddly enough I face the same problem with the deadline being 10pm... Diamond, I have a suggestion, perhaps you should get a co-mod and do what I had originally planned to do for an earlier game (which never happened since I got punished >_>), write the deaths out earlier and let the co-mod post them. That way we'd be able to set a deadline that suits us all.
