Animated Saruman Statue

I came across this today and thought you guys might find it interesting;

Earlier this year Gentle Giant announced plans to release a Lord of the Rings animated marquette line of statues and the first image has been leaked onto the internet:

At first I thought "eww" but then the more I looked at it the more I began to actually like it. It is certainly unique compared to Sideshow Weta's life like statues. A bit cheaper too at around $80. What do you guys think?

Encaitare is a guest of Tom Bombadil.
Hah, I like that! Can't say I'd spend $80 on one of them (there are few things I'd spend $80 on, anyway), but I can't wait to see what the others look like.

That's slightly disconcerting.

As I like caricatures, I enjoy seeing this version of Saruman! It'll be fun to see how other characters will be shown, but I wouldn't spend that much money on anything that merely catches dust...

Holbytlass has just left Hobbiton.
It looks like Tim Burton is going into production of LOTR the claymation.
I am intriguied by the statue but this Saruman is looking more like a harmless old vagabond even likable rather than the deranged unstable power hungry wizard.
