Helkahothion if you've had trouble with TTT, try reading The Silmarillion. It's way more confusing than anything in LotR.
I've read The Hobbit, LotR, The Silmarillion, and Unfinished Tales. The Sil is my favorite. I want to read the Histories and I might even get around to it, someday.
