Mt. Gundabad never had any of Saurons influence in it, and it was a pure Goblin Colony

or

DOl Guldur was the only place not originally belonging to a race of good (Men, Dwarves, Elves)

The Halls of Menegroth hosted a battle between Elves and Dwarves. The rest of those battles were against Orcs and their ilk.
