The movies are the greatest publicity the books could ever get. They have been interpreted so brilliantly and with such vision that they make the most
effective ad campaign for the books imaginable. Anyone likely to read the books will be inspired to do so by the films. And as for those that don't - well at least they have experienced some of the wonder of Middle Earth through Peter Jackson's interpretation of Tolkien. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
