"It was back at that last hill," he said aloud. "We last saw them then. Where have they gone? Perhaps they took a different road or were snatched off the track?"

Dárin cursed miserably. It was ridiculous. He had seen the elves seconds before, right in front. But he couldn't see very well at all, behind his companion. "What a dilemma."
