`How like old times!' they said. `Just as Christmas is coming, too. So seasonable. How pleased the King will be! He will be able to have Real Tail this Christmas.'
JRR Tolkien - Farmer Giles of Ham

I have a question also. May we choose a quote from any of Tolkien's writings, or is there a specific topic ?

Well done, The Might, and welcome to a thread that seems to be dominated by German language members! (Guinevere's location tells you where she lives; mine is currently Christmas-themed, but I live in Germany, even in NRW, like you!) Tuor, who started the thread, is the only regular who doesn't speak German.

This thread is reserved for Tolkien's minor works; the list of works we've used in is the first post, but I'll post it here for convenience:

We have included The Homecoming, since we have it in the book Tree and Leaf, but haven't yet used the Father Christmas Letters. I do have that book, so if others do as well, we could include those. In addition, several of us have a copy of Tolkien's poem The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun, so we occasionally use that. Oh, and we have used Tolkien's lecture 'On Fairy-Stories' and the poem 'Mythopoeia', since both are also in Tree and Leaf, but not often.

Please let us know which books and stories you have; we'll be happy to choose from the list so that you can participate regularly! It's your turn to post a new one now.

I have Roverandom, Farmer Giles, Adventures of Tom Bombadil, Leaf by Niggle, and the Father Christmas Letters. Anyway, I intend to purchase the missing works sometime soon, so no need to not use all of them in this thread.

Anyway, new one:
`-- ---'-- ---- -- - -----, ---'- -- ------- ---- -----. -- --- ---- -- ---- -- ----, ---'-- ---- - --- ----.'
