The line of the Princes of Dol Amroth reputedly had Elvish blood in them because the Elf-lady Mithrellas had wedded Imrazor the Numenorean, and their son was the first Lord of Dol Amroth. The mother of Boromir and Faramir, Finduilas of Dol Amroth was a descendant of that line. I personally think Faramir inherited a bit more of the "Elvish side" of his family than Boromir. He was also the most like his father, since "in both of them the blood of Numenor ran true." Denethor wished that his heir (and favorite) Boromir had also inherited the Numenorean "abilities," but Tolkien himself said that it was strange that two of the men of that family had inherited that, and one hadn't.

But Melkor also was there, and he came to the house of Fëanor, and there he slew Finwë King of the Noldor before his doors, and spilled the first blood in the Blessed Realm; for Finwë alone had not fled from the horror of the Dark.
