What is behind Your Avatar. Why did you chose it?
I see many interesting Pictures on my travells on the Downs, and I wonder why they chose that particular piece? Is it a reflection of your personality? I chose mist upon mountains for mine because i'm a real 'Nature Boy'. I love mountains, rivers and so on..... Hhmm.. I have had many avatars during my time here.. Swanboats and other stuff.. At the moment, it's an oversized smiley:
 I think I choose it because.. Because.. Uhm.. my old image wouldn't show up all the time, so I had to change it, and since I couldn't come up with anything better, I thought "Hey, why not an angel!" So, an angel it was. It is sort of a joke, considering most of my friends claim I'm evil. *nods*

Well, I chose mine because I thought it was a really beautiful pic of Sarah Brightman. I love S.B. because she has a beautiful voice and definitely looks like she could pass for an elf. [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

Well, really I have chosen many different ones from the first movie. Most of those are just because I liked a certain scene and I put lines from the script in my signature. But when I saw the one I have now, I thought I would keep it in anticipation of the second movie. Now though, I'm not sure what I will do since the movie is now out.
Edit: Although, now I believe I have had to change it. (Someone else on the downs has the same one.) I guess I will let him use it for as long as he wants. The movie is already out anyway. But my new avatar is just something to do with my personality and fascination for everything LOTR. And I do emphasize everything!! Mine is a picture of my favorite character in TTT, Eomer heir to the throne of Rohan and one badass in the books. UNlike the movie where you hardlt saw him at all, once at the very begining and onece at the end peeping behind Gandalf's glowing radiance. But my anger about the new movie must be discussed in another forum.
I love Eomer's characters so thats why I chose him for my avatar.

Mine has 100% nothing to do with LotR. Oh well. I like it. Musical me, I just had to have a picture of my dream quitar for my avatar. I'm saving up now...(expensive Taylor 614ce) oh well. I guess my old guitar will do for now. I used to have a picture of me and my friend, then I had a avatar of me and a mic. Then I had one or two of another guitar...

I chose my avatar solely because of my screen name. (DarkRose) [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img] It's a black rose, yes. I chose my name/avatar because dark roses seem mysterious to me, and I am a person of mystery. I just like how it sounds/looks. =)

Hmm...interesting question.
I chose mine because I have always loved Unicorns and the one in my avatar is from a favorite classic of mine, The Last Unicorn. I loved the book, and I loved the animated movie. |

I chose mine because... well, it's a bit long, but here comes all of the story!
I had a lot of pictures/avatars, but they didn't really fit, so finally I got one of ... well, a mountain and a rainbow I think. But then - they removed it from the site! And I couldn't find it again!! [img]smilies/eek.gif[/img] So I went on google, typed a random word and found my current pic. It's cool, don't ya think? Anyways, I like looking at it, and I can turn it to represent whatever I wish (depends on my mood). Okay, the story wasn't that long, just me typing it... And not very interesting... Right now my avatar is of Daffy Duck because I just love Daffy and that particular picture is so cute! I don't foresee myself changing it unless it stops working for some reason. Then I might find another DD picture or one of Bucky Katt from "Get Fuzzy" (if I could find one). Even though Pippin is my favorite LotR character, there isn't a pic out there that expresses *my* Pippin just right. (No offense to Billy, but he's not what I picture when I read the book). Otherwise I'd use a pic of Pippin.

YEA!! I'm so happy. I just got my new avatar up. So, I've come here to brag [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] I'm sure some of you have seen this before. It is an Alphonse Mucha print, titled "Laurier". I picked it because I love Mucha, his Art Nouveau style is perfection! "Laurier" looked just right for an avatar, and I love green. He has a print that could be Galadriel. Well, I'm pleased, and I thank my husband for getting it on here for me! [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

My avatar thingy is a crystal ball type whatsit showing a scene of a silhoutted city backed by a red sky with dragons flying overhead. I chose it for three reasons: 1)It shrunk down quite nicely to the smaller size here. 2)It was the exact image of a war scene that I wrote about when I finally set down the Belai Vor of my little universe. 3)It mirrors my strange peronality and screams "ARANRUTH!" Well, no it doesn't actually scream my name...although it would be fun if it did. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
I saw an interesting one not too long ago... now who did it belong to?

I have had three different avatars since I first came here. All of them are a bit similar to each other.
First of all they have been all of women, fairy or not. I've always had an interest with drawings of people, especially female fantasy characters. Second, all of my avatars have been of night or darkness. That type of thing seems to fascinate me oddly enough. I love the night! Each time I change my avatar, I use a pic with a similar theme. I don't know why. I suppose I'm just weird.
