Nevertheless his hoofbeats marked time passing too swiftly for his rider who was at a loss how he could explain the events of the past days to his lord when he could scarce understand them himself.

The boy shuddered at the thought and tried to dismiss it from his mind for as long as possible but too soon his elvish sight perceived the banners of Feanor and his son fluttering over the dwellings of his people and knew that there could be no delay.
