One problem I see with two hurts and one heal is that controversial characters, that are liked by some and hated by others, don't stand a chance and are eliminated early, leaving characters most seem to be indifferent about, which won't make the end of the game more interesting. Maybe something can be done about it in the next round.

Yes, that's exactly true. Although, for example myself, I am doing that the way that I hurt everybody else and keep unharmed those whom I like. So, I will eventually turn to hurt even people I am indifferent about, just because I don't think they deserve to have so many points (which is the case with most of the people in my case anyway, like I said - I am mostly rather indifferent about most people).
