One or many?

I enjoy having the books separatly. I bought a set at Border's that consisted of four books, the trilogy & the hobbit. I liked having them separate, because then the task didn't seem so tedious, and getting to move on to the next book was like a fun prize for finishing the one before it! Plus, that's the way that it was published anyway - can you imagine having to wait a year or so to find out what happens?!
