But had Aredhel assisted the Hithlum goal in the final (shwe basically assited one goal in every game before the final) I would have won you with four points. Here's how it would have played out: 10 pts. for most assists in the tournament prediction before the games started + 2x3 pts. for one assist for the team captain = 16 pts. - 12 pts. (our difference) = +4 pts.
Well, Nogrod, had I picked Ar-Pharazon as captain and he'd scored a hat-trick, I'd have beaten you anyway.

I didn't even imagine overcoming you Skip as I was just looking at the difference between myself and Boro, but now as you say it... yeah, we would have ended up equal in the lead had Aredhel assisted one goal in the final.

Well, there are different ifs... like if Aredhel assisted one goal like she did in every game but the first where she scored instead, or if Ar Pharazôn made a hat-trick (before the final he had 50% ratio of scoring one or not scoring at all) and if he was chosen as your captain... The first one is something that could be said would have been highly probable and the second one would have been far from it.

I just couldn't be not mentioning that fact when I realised how "close" the contest was even if the numbers themselves would say it was a clearcut deal...

But I see what you mean and you're quite right indeed. An if is always an if - even if there are different ifs. And that's fine - well what else but fine could it be?

As I said congrats once more, and thanks for some really entertaining writing!

And let it be said here publicly as well: good stuff the phantom! That was excellently organised tournament! You made our (Skip's and mine) life easy with our writing by being both supporting and flexible - and always on time or ahead of it.

Two things I have learned to appreciate here in the 'Downs are the personal commitment to do what one has promised to do and to do it on time promised + taking things through to the end and not leaving them unfinished. You never failed tp but looked this through beautifully. *bows*

Agreed, agreed and agreed. I'm especially impressed with the reliability of all the statistics added up by tp, and how he's always spotted when rules have been broken. Sorry about the times when I wrote about players who in fact did not play for the team I was writing about by the way (and for some awkward word repetitions haha)! My excuse is being in a rush with little free time but that's not really an excuse, as I probably have as much or more of it as you guys do. Did you have an excel worksheet or something similar to help you with the stats tp? Without some software aid that work would be insane, especially in the early rounds.

Anyway, great work the Phantom and Nogrod, as well as Boro for his predictions and stats, and thanks to all of the other participants too!

Thanks everyone for participating, and definitely thanks to Skip and Nogrod for their fine writing and helping to organize the rules and such. You were easy to work with and made good suggestions.

Thanks Boro for getting those final stats together and writing up predictions. Those were great fun to read, and I hope that trend catches on.

Congratulations, skip.

And to phantom, Nogrod and skip (again)– thanks so much for making it happen!

And Boro, your predictions and stuff were one of the highlights.
