I don't have my book handy on me right now, but I believe it was in chapter 21 (uncertain of the page number) or close to it.

That would be Gurthang - the only known thinking and speaking sword!

Turin asked it if it would give him a quick death, and Gurthang said yes. (It's a bit awkward thinking "it" said, isn't it?)
