Kyranger, what would this forum do without you? You're the one who's keeping tabs on Th for all of us!
Is Jackson trying to be funny with the random comments about bones and such? (or maybe it's just my prejudice against him that makes me see bad in his every move) At least they've started filming. That's progress. ![]() Uch, I'm such a hypocrite! First I blame PJ for just about everything and say how bad he made the movies, but I'm excited to see TH come out!

PJ is a little odd, though still it is nice to see that TH and LotR will have continuity, at least in the sets (Bag End, Rivendell). And Gandalf's still Gandalf, whatever turns the other characters and storylines might take...

Too right Lommy!!!
Please just try and get it right this time PJ, or at least put the rubbish bits on different DVD sections that don't affect the plot, so I can flick past them. The good bits of LoTR really were excellent in my view, the cinematography, Gandalf in the Shire, the Misty Mountains, the Balrog etc. what was annoying was how easy it would have been to get some of the rubbish bits right. Someone should do an edited Tolkienite version of maximum canonicity, maybe one day it could be revamped in CGI to get rid of the elves from Helm's Deep and the ready-brek skeletons from the Pelennor Fields.

Though I love Tolkien as much as the next guy...
(Oh, hi, Barrow-Downs user!) ... I admit that I love what Peter Jackson did with the films. It's ultimately true that if they stuck to a script that was 100% canon, that featured EVERY thing in the same order as Tolkien wrote it, it certainly would not have worked as a film (or three, as it were.) I'm super excited to see him at the helm of 'The Hobbit.' I... am twitching with anticipation. *twitch* |
