I like both, but if forced to pick I'd obviously pick Nerdanel based on actual accomplishment rather than strictly my own imaginings. She was a legendary artisan in her own right, daughter and grandmother of two of the best and wife of the very best, which is perhaps what caught his attention. Plus she's red-headed- a rarity.
