Hi there Skytree,

No, I've not read it. Beorn's an interesting character tho, and I wonder at times on and off about the Werebears and their basically seemingly 'good' natures. We never get to find out more about them.

Please educate me about the book u've read

It's actually a collection of essays by a gathering of Tolkien scholars that ended in early 90's. The essays and topics were gathered in annual publications.

The issue I have has an essay on Beorn by Anders Stenstrom and among other things gives an estimation of Beorn's size from the textual description in the book. It estimates he was around ten feet tall. It also discussed other attributes and elements of the character.

The issue had various authors on different subjects. For example, there was an essay on the History of Middle Earth by T.A. Shippey in the issue as well.
