It wasn't the Tengwar by any chance was it?
Made long ago -- It was
Spoken differently by one -- the Black Language, perhaps?
Spoken by the jewel -- some crypticness there I'd guess which I can't be bothered deciphering *yawn*
Spoken by the fire -- Written on the Ring

I doubt I've got the right answer. Nice riddle.
