Ring Female Dwarves...

perhaps i am missing something here, but can anyone think of a time when any mention whatsoever is made of female dwarves? i mean, they must exist (Gimli Gloin's son? think about it!), but i dont think there existance have ever been aknowledged. at least not that i remember. am i forgeting something?
