Elven Blood in Faramir and Boromir

I apologise if this seems ludicris but it has been crawling its way under my skin for a long time (or...whatever a wight has that passes for skin anyway).

This started when I was reading 'Narn i hin Hurin' and looked up Findiulas in the appendix because I remembered that Finduilas was the name of Boromir and Faramir's mother.

Quote:
The mantle was wrought for his mother, Finduilas of Amroth, who died untimely...
The mantle of course is the one that Faramir gave to Eowyn.

The next thing that caught my attention was...

Quote:
But too late now Turin sought for Finduilas...
and that got my mind going to the point that I remembered Finduilas of Amroth. Looking in the Appendix of Unfinished tales I found...

Quote:
Finduilas (1) Daughter of Orodreth, loved by Gwindor; captured in the sack of Nargothrond, killed by Orcs at the Crossings of Teiglin and buried in the Haudh-en-Elleth.
With Directly under it...

Quote:
Finduilas (2) Daughter of Adrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth; wife of Denethor II, Steward of Gondor, mother of Boromir and Faramir.
In this search I once again turned to The Lord of the Rings recalling a quote about Imrahil...

Quote:
At length they came to the Prince Imrahil, and Legolas looked at him and bowed low; for he saw that here indeed was one who had elven blood in his veins...
Thus concluding that Faramir and Boromir as Imrahil's father's sister's sons they also must have Elven blood in them.
