Radagast played a part in the White Council, which was formed to stand against Sauron, but it seemed his greatest concern was with the Kelvar and Olvar of Middle-earth and little of him is told in the chronicles of that time. He was wiser than any man in the concernings of herbs and beasts. It is said he spoke the many tounges of birds. Even the Beornings and Woodmen of Mirkwood and the mighty Ent gaurdians of the Forest of Fangorn spoke with reverence of the wisdom of Radagastthe brown, for in forest-lore he had no equal. I think that´s sort of a lie... cause Gandalf isn´t very quick to anger and saruman is evil so he doesn´t count

Gandalf is too quick to anger...He wasn't very happy when Pipin picked up the orthanc palantir, was he?

picking up the palantir was rather dangerous after all, isn't it?He could have angered for less important issues.
As for Radagast, wouldn't it have been great if he had also been part of the Fellowship?Imagine the two wizards fighting the Balrog....I'm sure only the Balrog would have died then!

But since the fellowship was (supposudly) an equal representation of all races in ME, i doubt Radagast, even if he had been at the council, would have come along.

I hope you saw I said 'if.'And oh well, those silly hobbits were represented with 4(!)and Men with 2,so I guess 2 Ainur wouldn't have been a problem really.

I think the idea of Radagast the Brown fighting a Balrog is extremely absurd! I mean, what's he going to do, tell a bunch of birds to go to the bathroom on top of the Balrog? That man (ok, wizard) was not meant to fight. I think that Yavanna had her own secret agenda in sending him, because as an Istar, he was absolutely useless, except for sending Gwaihir to Isengard. That was his one smart thing!

He was a Maiar so I assume he could do SOMETHING to a Balrog. It isn't like he's some hillbilly who can only talk to the birds! He was a master of shapes wasn't he?Who knows what shape he might have taken if he had to fight a Balrog!

Radagast was moved in middle earth and turned from his bad@$$ Istar powers to go toward the earth, becoming less and less powerful, concerning himself with the beasts and birds. Also, doesn't the good Doctor Tolkien tell us that Radagast was an impotent Istar after moving into the Yavanna realm. But the original three Istari were Curunir, Allatar, and Olorin, but Radagast was added for Yavanna and Pallando went as Allatar's friend.
For more, look in the Istari chapter in UT.

losing power isn't the same as becoming handicapped and absolutely WITHOUT powers.
