Nope

Samwise

Thank you Samwise. It is your turn.

Samwise
10-21-2004, 07:12 PM
Oh, my...

*Goes to find a question that has nothing whatsoever to do with numbers....*

Samwise
10-21-2004, 07:50 PM
This question will probably last 3 seconds, but....

Name 5 injuries/accidents sustained by actors during the filming of the Lord of the Rings Movies. (well, the answer won't have to do with numbers, anyway....)

Samwise
10-23-2004, 04:48 PM
Anyone?

Orcrist
10-26-2004, 05:17 PM
1. Sean Astin stepped on a piece of glass.

2. Viggo Mortensen lost some teeth.

3. Viggo Mortensen almost drowned.

I'll have to think of two more. If someone else gets five before me, give it to them.

Orcrist
10-26-2004, 05:32 PM
1. Sean Astin stepped on a piece of glass.

2. Viggo Mortensen lost some teeth.

3. Viggo Mortensen almost drowned.

4. One of the Ringwraiths fell off his horse.

One more to go.

The Saucepan Man
10-26-2004, 07:25 PM
Didn't Viggo "Mr Bump" Mortensen also break his toe or something kicking the orc helmet outside Fangorn? As I recall, they kept his anguished cry in. :D

Samwise
10-26-2004, 07:27 PM
*Viggo Mortensen lost some teeth.

*One of the Ringwraiths fell off his horse.

Wasn't thinking at all of these two. When did they happen?

Yep, that's another Mr. Saucepan, though the way I remember it the cry wasn't kept in at all, but percieved as anguish over Merry and Pippin. Either way, it works.

The Saucepan Man
10-26-2004, 07:32 PM
Yep, that's another Mr. Saucepan, though the way I remember it the cry wasn't kept in at all, but percieved as anguish over Merry and Pippin. That's what I meant. They kept the cry in because it served admirably as a cry of anguish for Merry and Pippin.

I'm out of Middle-earth movie mishaps. :D

Kath

If this is still going then the last one would be Orlando Bloom falling off his horse, having the Gimli puppet thing land on him and so breaking his ribs.

Orcrist
10-27-2004, 08:05 PM
I think I read somewhere that Viggo lost some teeth after he jumped on that one Orc at Amon Hen. He insisted that the teeth be glued back in, and the shoot go on.

It also says in "The Making of the Movie Trilogy" that on the first day of the Ringwraiths chasing Arwen scene, one of the Wraiths fell of his horse.

I still can't think of another one.

Samwise
10-27-2004, 09:29 PM
Hm. I'm thinking of someone else that I understand lost a tooth, and about an incident in Rivendell.

Samwise
11-01-2004, 04:23 PM
True to my usual line of things, both "owies" had to do with Sean Astin.

Samwise
11-12-2004, 01:32 PM
Hello! I apologize for leaving you folks in the lurch. I get lost in this place since they changed the format.

Any way, according to what I've read (both in a magazine, and here), aside from stepping on the glass, Mr. Astin also:

Had an 80-pound statue or some such fall on his head while in Rivendell, knocking him unconcious. The lump that began to grow on his head actually started lifting his wig off.
During a swordfight, he had a tooth knocked out and requested that his tooth be glued back in so that they could finish the scene.

The last one I learned here in another quiz game. Elijah Wood said "He's incredible" and began to describe the incident. I remember wondering why "Sam" didn't just pack up and go home at that point. ;)

Anyway, by my count, unless you folks would like to decide otherwise, Orcrist has given the most answers, so it's his go.

Orcrist?

Telperaca

Can someone else just post a question, but if Orcrist turns up, he can post his question?

Samwise
11-17-2004, 03:12 PM
...it's been a while since I've heard the exact rules, but I believe we have to wait 10 days to give the person a chance to answer, then someone else can.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

The Saucepan Man
11-17-2004, 05:47 PM
Orcrist has 10 days from the question being given to him to ask the next one. If hasn't done so after 10 days, anyone can ask the next question.

Thank you, kindly, Mr. Saucepan. ;) Wasn't quite sure.

Orcrist
11-17-2004, 06:21 PM
Name the place in New Zealand where Amon Hen, Nen Hithoel, and Fangorn were filmed. ;)

airetari
11-18-2004, 06:25 PM
That would be mavora lakes on the south island.

Orcrist
11-18-2004, 07:41 PM
I was looking for more of a general area. That might have been the lake, but I want a general area. :(

Orcrist
11-21-2004, 01:37 PM
Anyone there? Hello?

Samwise
11-21-2004, 02:31 PM
I'm sorry, but I haven't the faintest.

airetari
11-21-2004, 06:14 PM
The fiordlands?

Orcrist
11-21-2004, 06:44 PM
I guess I'll give it to you. It was Milford Sound, which was located in Fiorlands National Park. Go ahead.

Orcrist
11-28-2004, 07:19 PM
airetari? It's your turn.

AbercrombieOfRohan
12-20-2004, 06:52 PM

Hopefully this thread will get started again :(

NightKnight

Lawrence Makoare.

AragornII
03-02-2005, 09:41 PM

NightKnight
03-03-2005, 10:11 AM
Not the funniest thread around, but it definately deserves to live.

Where does the artist Alan Lee make an appearance?

AragornII
08-21-2005, 07:02 PM
Alan Lee appears in TTT at Helm's Deep as a Rohan collecting weapons. ;)

NightKnight
08-22-2005, 11:30 AM
That's not the answer I had, so I'll have to refuse you that one.

AragornII
08-23-2005, 08:42 PM
  ;)
Do want likr in the movie or on the team in general?

NightKnight
08-24-2005, 02:24 PM
He's in one of the movies, and I'll give you a hint: It's the first one.

AragornII
08-24-2005, 07:32 PM
Is he one of the people at the Prancing Pony?
Either that or he's just one of the people hanging around in Bree, maybe.

NightKnight
08-31-2005, 01:46 PM
Nope, he's not in Bree.

Pallando
08-31-2005, 05:14 PM
Elf in Rivendell? Orc in Moria?

Mango of Doom
09-01-2005, 02:33 AM
He was one of the kings who took a ring of power at the beginning ;)

NightKnight
09-01-2005, 11:34 AM
You are indeed right, Mango of Doom. Please ask another question. :)

Mango of Doom
09-01-2005, 02:50 PM
Thanks :)

Who was the only hobbit in the trilogy to not need to wear a wig?

Folwren
09-01-2005, 02:56 PM
Funny thing is, my sister and I were just talking of this very question the other day. The not funny thing is...neither of us know the answer.

But I'll guess Merry.

Kath
09-01-2005, 03:55 PM
Do you mean one of the members of the Fellowship? Because if not wasn't it one of PJ's kids who played Hobbit children at Bilbo's party?

The Perky Ent
09-01-2005, 09:22 PM
Hmm...Rosie?

Mango of Doom
09-02-2005, 02:28 AM
Correct Kath.

Kath
09-02-2005, 11:08 AM
Shoot that means I have to ask one!

Who trained Viggo Mortensen's horse to lay down beside him?

The Perky Ent
09-02-2005, 11:54 AM
I have no idea. Random guess time!

Lockie Richards?

Kath
09-02-2005, 11:57 AM
Yes, take it away!

The Perky Ent
09-02-2005, 06:19 PM
OMG PWnage! What luck :D

um...

Let's make this uber easy

Who is credited as 'Gondorian Soldier 3' , in Return of the King?

Hiriel
09-03-2005, 08:54 PM
I think that would be a man by the name of David Aston. Also in the Matrix.

The Perky Ent
09-03-2005, 09:58 PM
I see the demonic grip of IMDB has taken another. Your thread!

Hiriel
09-04-2005, 05:55 PM
Demonic? Well, I wouldn't say that. Crack for the bored and lazy, maybe, but not demonic. Anyroad, here's the question, which should be easy.

In Peter Jackson's cameo in FOTR, what is he eating?

Gil-Galad
09-04-2005, 06:28 PM
hmmm...chicken?

NightKnight
09-05-2005, 01:37 PM
Isn't he eating a carrot? Or am I way off now?

The Perky Ent
09-05-2005, 02:21 PM
Cookie?

Hiriel
09-05-2005, 05:03 PM
Cookies, chicken, and carrots! Oh my. KnightNight is correct. He is eating a carrot, and a very dirty one at that. Well done!

NightKnight
09-06-2005, 08:51 AM
Thanks, Hiriel.

Where do the orc war cries in Helm's Deep come from?

The Perky Ent
09-07-2005, 03:45 PM
um....that little mound in front of the fortresS?

AragornII
09-07-2005, 06:43 PM
Do mean where on the set or where did they get the sounds?

The first one I don't know, but for the second one, they went to a New Zealand vs. England cricket match and got the whole crowd to chant in Black Speech.

NightKnight
09-11-2005, 12:18 PM
You got it, Aragorn. Your turn.

AragornII
09-11-2005, 02:35 PM
How many trees were needed for the Fangorn set?
