Members pics & Barrowdowns family Tree

I am just starting a new members picture page and I wanted to make sure that I get everyone who would like his or her picture added. The new page will be hosted on my new domain as I have a much larger storage capacity; my old one had only 10 Meg.
If you would like you picture added please send a scanned image to my email at jwahl@bigpond.com

Also I will use these images to create a Barrow Downs family Tree so please include your member Number.

The images will not be thumbnails but full size photos, to do better justice to the Downs members.

I can use the old pictures or if people like they can send me new pictures. Also some people ask for the pics to be removed but this is time consuming and I would prefer to leave the new page as it is once it is complete. It is easy to add pics but harder to remove them as the order of the images changes which disrupts the linking.

I do not mind doing things for my Downs family, which is how I feel about you all, my extended family. Saying that, I want lots of Christmas gifts from you all. smilies/wink.gif

Well, I have develop the film first. My mom's getting a scanner soon so once the film is developed, I'll scan them. I hope the pics turns out ok. It'll be nice to display our TTT pride by the Christmas tree :D.

The plan is to have a great big image of a tree with all the Barrow Downs members names listed from the first member to the last, Can be used as a method of identifying / remembering past members and current Downs members. I am going to hunt through the old topics to find members names and number but due to my limited time available and the fact that the downs has over 3000 members The Family tree will take a little longer to complete than first anticipated. smilies/rolleyes.gif

I think that the reason the picture of me doesn't work is because it was taken offline a while ago, so that might be the problem if you were linking to another URL. It was taken offline because I was fourteen in the picture and am somewhat beyond that now (how much beyond will be left open for speculation). Honestly, Alkanoonion, I don't know where you got it because it is so not the pic I sent you so long ago. (;

Thank you, Rae! smilies/smile.gif. I meant to do it a while ago, have just been lazy about getting pictures scanned in. Hope my face didn't come as too much of a shock to you smilies/evil.gif . That picture was taken last June in Spain (On the Alhambra walls, looking down on Granada, to be specific). There were a lot of other ones but in most of them you either couldn't see my face very well or I was making silly expressions at my husband, since he was holding the camera.

Gorwingel, if it matters, by your name I had somehow thought of you being/looking older. (Nothing wrong with that, of course - then you'll have had 20 years to read the Sil and engage in those lofty arguments that the rest of us can only dream of engaging in).

Raefindel I talked about my parents because they are sometimes overprotective, and when I first started posting on this site my mom was kind of worried (she didn't want me finding any weird people or anything like that) and we are also very close (which is a good thing). I am going to be 17 on January 14, but I don't go many places on my own.

On my list on my work computer I now have over 350 members names but I have not updated the web page, as I would like to add it all at the same time. I aim to have the list complete in two weeks. Then the next step is the cut and pasting onto a family tree image. It will be a lot of work but I think that it would be a helpful resource for members and it will hopefully look great. A true dedication to the many members who have helped shaped the Downs into arguably the number one Tolkien Site on the web. smilies/biggrin.gif

BTW Aylwen Dreamsong my old list was hand typed in making mistakes a certainty therefore the new list has been copied directly from the forum to eliminate errors.

Good question, as it is not common knowledge as to who is related to who I had not planned on portraying family members together but if members would like to be together on the family tree they will have to tell me who their family members are. smilies/smile.gif

If you like you can email me with the correct order that people joined, smilies/smile.gif personally I have a limited amount of time to work on this project in my lunch hr mainly. To save on confusion I was just going by the displayed member name and number.

To help clarify, the Family tree is not based on members personal family but our big downs family all 3000+ and was intended as a visual method for people to know who all the members are. And as a resource to remove doubled up member accounts for BW.

Actually, I'm not a pilot, but I'm working for a newspaper and on that day when that pic was made I spent a whole day at the army for a story and I had the chance to fly with a helicopter so of course I said yes.
If I had thought about the fact that it was a helicopter of the AUSTRIAN army maybe I wouldn't have been so quick with my decision. smilies/biggrin.gif (btw it was the second time for me flying with a heli)

No, I actually have quite a nice school uniform; no ties, no blazers and a skirt of any length you like. Its ok, apart from the horrible striped blouse. Hehe. Well heres the story (well, shortened).

It all started out with a tree! smilies/biggrin.gif

In my town, the city wants to build over 21,600 homes! Seriously! Well as the developers began their building, a 400 tree had been standing in the way for a 4 lane highway to be built. Of course the developers saw the tree as just any ordonary Oak. A brave man named John Quigly saw what was about to happen and emidiatly took action. He went and sat in her for 71 days. Last month (January) he was forced to come out of the tree. This didn't stop him from trying to keep the tree alive. Well see my friend Sarah is a friend of Johns and John has been a huge LotR fan, and him and Sarah would talk about it a lot. A couple of friends of Dom, and Billy had come down to the tree and John got their phone numbers and talked to them about coming down to the tree. So last Monday (January 28th), a court session was going to be held about the tree and Dom showed up! John had told us before so we could bring stuff for him to sign. It was so awesome! So thats about it!

Actually it's in Works, an old version of Word. I upgraded to Word in August and that pic was taken in July. So close! But you're right, it's not indented. I'll bask in the mystery a while longer and tell you the amazingly anticlimatic text later.
