It's alright, suicidal elf chick. We were just all pretty confused and didn't know whether or not you knew you couldn't do something like that.

Morno--I really don't know about your idea. I think they've already been described by GW (I think it was you, but it could have been Thalion or Anarya) as "spirits," or maybe I'm going crazy. Last night was rough.

Honestly, I don't feel like I can make this call. It could work, but I was always leaning towards spirits myself.

I think Daegon is doing fine. Should I wait for him to chase me though or should I take up with the running part?

About the hooded figures: Elves may be a bit "odd" to say the least. it would certainly stir thigns up a bit more.

Nice-Smeagol/Mornovarion,
about elves as the hooded figures..... its a creative idea. But we should all remember, that the Elves were one tough race to “cow”. Even Morgoth/Melkor had to kidnap the ones who had NOT been “influenced” by the Valar to be able to torture and manipulate them into orcs (BoLT and Silmarillion). But I must admit, he (Morgoth) did enslave several (as in the case where Beleg saved one, when he went to rescue Turin). Men were easier to master and control totally – that’s why Sauron was able to use, or rather create, Nazguls/Ulairi/Ringwraiths from Man. Also, when an elf dies, or wanes away, his/her spirit goes straight to Mandos. It seemed they weren’t susceptible to the wraiths’ influence (like when Frodo was stabbed by a Nazgul blade... he’d have become a wraith himself if not for Elrond healing him).
Besides, haven’t you noticed Sauron usually used what was at hand, rather in creating something from “scratch” (like what Morgoth did). Perhaps because he was a Maia, a lesser Ainur, unlike his previous master, Morgoth (though this did not make him less dangerous).
But if you still wish to go through w/ it... why not? THAT IS, IF EVERYONE AGREES! smilies/biggrin.gif Just make sure its an interesting twist to the story, not completely rocking it. It should blend and compliment each sub-plot, too! (besides, we do have the edit/delete option, don’t we?)

And like I always say, Gilthalion the Boss, has the final say! smilies/biggrin.gif

Okay, sounds interesting... so the hooded figures are Elves that have somehow been brought under Sauron's sway? Just find a way how that can happen, and I'll be happy... smilies/biggrin.gif

I'm with GW...it is a really cool idea if we can pull it off. What I mean is, if we can invent a convincing way that these elves were brought under Sauron's control, then we would have ourselves one heck a plot twist. smilies/biggrin.gif

Hey it seems our story is at another “brain-storm” – hope Boss Gil will be coming in soon!
Okay, either I’ve been “involving” myself too much into our story... or my brain was too darn tired and actually tried to “escape” subconciously to Mirkwood! smilies/evil.gif Last night I dreamt of Rûdhchamion and Nazguls for some odd reason, and it lead me to re-read certain parts of RotK, UT and Sil. And this is what I’ve got to say...
Gilthalion is a genius! smilies/biggrin.gif Did you guys (and, eherm, ladies) know that he placed us at a time-table that we have been slowly put together in such a way that it would lead to the Nine Walkers’ quest? And get this (though I don’t know if its just coincidence, or if Anarya has read the part of the book, if so I must commend her for seeing it before me), Sauron put three Nazguls in Dol Goldur!
Our story also puts us near the time (if not during) when Celebrian was attacked by orcs! So I must apologize to GreatWarg/Khelek about questioning him how he got to Mirkwood from Rivendell. It all makes (evil) sense! smilies/eek.gif
Soon, into the future, Thranduil will be beseiged by the forces of the Nazguls (by order of the Dark Boss, er, I mean Lord!). So will Lothlorien (but I doubt we will get involve there...), and - hola! – gollum appears... and I’m getting carried away... smilies/tongue.gif

(oh, and I hope someone can get an idea from my "ramblings", inspiration maybe? smilies/biggrin.gif and we can use it w/ the "elf idea" Morno/Nice_Smeagol mentioned!)

Our story begins several years before the War of the Ring. Your characters will not be aware of the events surrounding that war, since they have not happened yet!...

I can't recall reading Legolas' actual age in any of the books I've read... er, could you refresh me on that? I know his age was discussed in the forum, but I had no interest in Lego at that time. smilies/biggrin.gif

Right now, I don't have the books w/ me.

Ok.. I think I posted last Sunday (or was it Saturday?) and told you people that I would post soon again.. right? Weee-eeell.. Some people had, without my knowledge, decided that it would be a good idea for me to stay at some friends for a while.. I didn't mind, they have such cute kids! My apologies for the long absence... job-hunting and school affairs have been keeping me away from the Downs. Not to mention the weather we're having in this part of asia - the monsoon rains are causing floods even in the cities! (and for the life of me, I can't understand why a person would still use an umbrella even if one was already sumberged chest-deep in water... to keep the head dry?) smilies/rolleyes.gif

GW,I have told my story before... at Thranduil's court. But I get the picture. Maybe I can add some stuff to make our adventure more interesting. But Anarya may grow tired of my story... smilies/tongue.gif

The weather has finally gotten better… the sun deciding to finally show itself. The floodwaters are slowly receding, thank Manwe. I thought I was going to start growing fins and gills! The powers are back on!!! Yehey!!! *claps* I can now go out and rent at the cybercafe… since I buried my PC in floodwater. smilies/biggrin.gif

Well heres my character:
Her names Taralphiel and I'm sorry but shes a mortal. She's from the town of Calembel in Gondor.
She marries against her families wishes (rebellious child smilies/biggrin.gif ). Her love, Eriador, has left the town and she leaves soon after to find him.
She doesn't know too much about the wild but has managed to get her way to a big forest (hint hint).
I'm not sure about whether she finds Eriador dead or if she continues looking for him on the way to Dol Goldur...
Well let me know on your feedback! Ive started the post but wont be around for a few days.

I had a case of temporary(?) insanity smilies/tongue.gif ... besides the PC was running on a MMX processor (yup it was a miracle it could still work). It would was a sort of "putting it out of its misery".
I did eventually try to dry it out and get it working... I blew a fuse at our house in the process. (Darn its hard to look innocent when you have a smoking PC in front of you!) smilies/tongue.gif

Uh... I don't rightly know. We have a party of four heading to Dol Goldur, and where everyone else went, I have no idea. It depends on your character, where you're going, how smoothly you can fit in, and which party you'll be joining. But I think the train en route to Dol Goldur is full. Maybe not. Let's see what Anarya and Thalionyulma say first.

Ok, my life is quite messed up at the moment.. half the time I don't live at home, because my dad is to depressed and barely manages to take care of himself, so me and my brother are living away every second week. Just so you know.. that might explain why I am gone for so long, without posting..

Oh, and can’t the additional characters be of MALE gender? I don’t mind new characters… but mine is one of the few MALE elves in the story.

Jeez guys it wasn't that big of a deal smilies/rolleyes.gif When I wrote that I meant it in a way that wasn't "romantic". I give my best guy friends kisses on the cheek all the time. Its nothing new. Atleast Anarya didn't give him a smack right on the mouth. That would have been going too far.

Anarya, LOL… I didn’t mean for it to sound that way actually, but it was the first thing that came out. (of course Rudh wants me to change it… I refused, I thought it made him sound less perfect as what most ppl think elves to be smilies/biggrin.gif). But, ask Rudh about scouting, tracking and the way of the woods (not the world! He would care less what the men in Gondor are doing, or for that matter even other elves not of his “tribe”)… those things he has always been sure of. But you see, he’s a dark elf, of Nandor/Silvan origin, and they will only chose one to be a companion, or stay forever alone… come to think of it, I really got to have him lighten up, sheeesh. Ok, I really should edit my last post, but I think I will let it be there, as a memory and as a warning not to think too hard when you are too tired..

Well, anyway, Thalion and me was chatting this morning (great grammar me are using today, right?) and came up with some ideas.. We can't go back to Thranduil, waiting for him to judge Daegon.. since Gil never is on. We should instead get out in the forest, so that (in the end) we can end up joining Rudchamion & Co.
My and Thalion's idea was that Daegon would try to win my sympathy. Sauche and Amaryllis could run back in the wood, when realising I'm still in there, being attacked by wargs.. and we could possibly meet up with Mayla, or something... Finally, when Rinurion because of something has left us, we get captured by the orcs and dragged away, just to be rescued by Rud, Anarya, Khelek and Tara.. uuuummmm.... something like that.. *phew* I hope you like this idea.. and that SOMEONE will help me..
Where is Sauche and Amaryllis?!? I also need Rinurion to post a little (or Thalion posting in his name), because, well.. who likes an longbow being aimed at your head? *gulp* oh well, I better be off doing something else..

um, you have a very unusual background… I’ve never read Tolkien mix the race of hobbits before, they’ve always been a “clustered” sort. And hobbits dislike Greenwood, especially after it became Mirkwood (Bilbo went there under duress). We try to keep this story based as close to Tolkien’s Middle Earth as possible… smilies/biggrin.gif
May I suggest a ranger? Or an adventurous hobbit who gets lost after going after Mayla (the original hobbit who we had expected in the story)?
But first… please read our moderator’s rule on this RPG, and the story. Gilthalion (our Big Boss of RPG) plans to make this into a fanfic, and its one reason we try not to disrupt his storyline.


Come on PPL… love stories were allowed only as a smaller sub-stories. R & A isn’t going to make a big deal of it, duty comes first. They have bigger problems to face. Like Gilthalion said…

I'm about to post a daydreaming scene with Eriador guys and I want your opinion. Should we bring him in as a sub-story? Should I play him or should we find another author? I agree with Thalion of the romance sub plot part. This would get pretty boring if it was all about a love story. It would be good though if it was a smaller part of the story. The thing is though, that marriage and love and such is all Amaryllis thinks about, though it would be interesting if she did get together with Daegon! smilies/biggrin.gif

Right, here is my idea.
Before the rings were forged, 9 other rings were made, and they were given to Sauron, who discarded them because they were not powerful enough. They were found by a group of men who, the rings had no effect upon, until Sauron put on the One Ring, when they were strengthend and could do other cool stuff. But, the rings twisted and corrupted them and they condemned themselves to a eternity of servitude to Sauron.
I know it's not great, but it's the best I could think of.

Well, if you don't like the ring idea, we could have the figures as corrupted elves, but they have become so twisted, so evil, that they have become only shadows of elves, like wraiths. Also, I do have evidence of elves serving evil. Maeglin, from Gondolin, was captured and only the threat of torture, was enough to turn him to reveal the whereabouts of Gondolin, and how to get in. Also he had great hatred for Tuor, and desire for Idril Celebrindal, who Morgoth promised would be his once the city had fallen, which led him to betray his kindred and during the battle for Gondolin, actually fought and killed other elves. So therefore elves, in the right circumstances could fight for Sauron. if you don't believe me look at page 289-290 of the Silmarillion, "Of Tuor and the Fall of Gondolin".

Funny you should mention elves working for the good ole Dark Lord. I'm a staff writer at another site, and I'm writing up histories of all the divisions of elves and men, and guess what? I was researching the Avari today!

Erm...sorry Thalion..not all Dark elves are bad. But it is most likely that they would have been the early victims of Melkor...since they didn't, to my knowledge, build huge fortresses and hidden cities, etc.

I like the idea of the hooded figures as corrupted elves. I don't so much like the idea of rings or enchanted jewelry though...it's too...LotRish, if you get my meaning. Here are some random thoughts:

The Avari loved the wild, correct? They loved to roam the forests, etc. So I thought it would be beautiful in a tragic way if they became wraithlike beacause Melkor or Sauron locked them away in the dark without light or air or sound, and they pined so deeply and so long there (thinks a coupe, thousand years) for the sight, smell, sound, touch of their beloved forests, that their spirits broke and began to drift from they're bodies. In that weakened state the Dark Lord (take your pick...Morgoth could have done it and Sauron just retained their services when the Valar opened a can of whoop@$$ on his Master) took them and made them...well...whatever we want them to be. Perhaps to make it even more believable...the ones that were chosen could have been the "leaders" (not Kings, obviously, but there had to be some kind of hierarchy) of the Avari.

Uhhh...does that sound too insane?

Okay… the reason I’m not really too hot about the elves becoming wraith is this. The elves have a different “life essence” than man. To become a wraith, your soul must be entrapped in this plane. But elves could not easily ignore the call of Mandos once their bodies were slain… so there were no record of it. It was this one thing, I believe that greatly filled Sauron w/ hate of the elves – he knew he could never control them. That’s why he relied on deception.
Though some elves have been under the Dark Lords’ thrall… none were said to have become wraiths. Orcs, perhaps, but it took Melkor a great deal of work and torture. Besides the elves of this timeline in our story are well aware of the Dark Lord. And Angband was destroyed… Beleriand was destroyed as well.

Now in regards to Dark Elves… they were led by Denethor over the mountains and eventually settled east of Mirkwood. (Okay they were the Laiquendi…)The reason they were called dark elves was because none of them ever saw the light of the two trees. The Nandor was said to have come from the Avari. And there Saeros was a Nandor in Thingol’s court… so they were probably “civilised” by this time.

Tragic? Naw… they had their own govern… their own rules, though they were nomadic. They were more cautious than any other of their kind. But when they were rallied, they fought for the common cause.

About the Rings… Sauron nearly recovered all except the 3 and the One he lost… and is looking for in our RPG time frame.

Why not just say… they’re twisted thralls of the dark Lord forced into servitude? Not wraith-elves. We are suppose to stick to Tolkien… and our story is somewhat connected to War of the Ring. Since this is after “The Hobbit” but before LOTR. Who knows…. Gilthalion may want us to save the captured elves and free them. After all during LOTR there were no news about elves fighting elves. smilies/biggrin.gif

Okay… hope this made sense…

I'm a writer for There And Back Again (http://www.thereandbackagain.net) and I'm going to be turning an RPG into a fanfic, just like Gil does, and I have some questions for him, but I don't want to bug him, since it seems he's UBER busy.

Anyway. I've been researching stuff, and here are a few things I think the shadowy creatures could be besides elves and wraiths, and still fit believably into the history of Middle-earth.

Vampires
Demons - these were Maiar spirits corrupted by Melkor at the beginning of Arda
Nameless things - you know those things that lurk in Moria...maybe Sauron got a hold of some
Wights - it's a stretch, but perhaps Sauron found himself a few of those.


Anyway. What do you guys think? I figure as long as we stick to creatures that actually existed in Tolkien's writings, we can't go too far wrong.

Other info: She was born to be a warrior, she was taught weapons and defence etc by her two older brothers. She is very patient, bold, and caring. SHe is a good healer, and always likes a good adventure. Her father disowned her for her...well, since she would not be a proper woman and wished to be a warrior. She travels to Rivendell to see all her old friends but wanders as well.

I have just found a bit in the Silmarillion, that states,

Immediately he took the form of a vampire, great as a dark cloud across the moon and he fled, dripping blood from his throat upon the trees, and came to Taur-nu-Fuin, and dwelt there, filling it with horror. The Silmarillion, Page 206, of Beren and Luthien.
When reading this I think that a vampire in ME, is either a form that can be taken by a maiar or demon, or that it is something far too big to be confused for a human or elf. What do you think?

Hello Aylwen! Welcome to the 'Downs. I don't believe we've met before?
Anyway, we have quite a lot of elven shieldmaidens allready (though many of them seems to have stopped posting). You sure you need to play a female? You wouldn't want to play a male.. maybe an orc..? *ahem* I can understand if you don't want to. But my advice is to first of all letting your girl character be from Mirkwood, a common elf, without any heavier family problems, but with some faults (like being a coward and that kind of stuff). Please don't take this as offending, I'm simply trying to help you making an interesting character that could easily fit into the plot.
If you want to be in the soon-to-be big party, maybe you should be captured by the orcs in the beginning of your first post. That way, all of us will meet when we're being captives and can be freed together.. ^_^ UuuuummmM.. You don't have to listen to what I say, I'm not the moderator of this forum, after all.

First of all, I would like to say hello.

Though I am brand new, I would be interested in joining this story, if you approve. I regret to say that, once again, I am a female, though I would not mind playing a guy whatsoever, and it would seem that you could use a few... smilies/wink.gif I have no character profile currently, so you may mold me however you will, and I will animate the character (perhaps with minor adjustments, if approved). Anyway, I would prefer to play some non-elfish sort of creature (orcs are not my preference, but I would enjoy playing one, if necessary ). smilies/evil.gif

Sorry if I come off as too ambitious or obnoxious in any way, but I wanted to propose another possible explanation for the black-hooded creepy guys, if you don't mind. The suggestions so far are quite good, by the way. Anyhow, Aragorn says in the FOTR that when Frodo was stabbed by the Morgul knife thingy-jabber that he would become a wraith like the Nazgul, only weaker and under their command. Could these creatures be men (not elves) that have met such a fate? I realize you kind of already shot down the idea of wraiths, but oh well, might as well spit it out anyway.

The only true vampire mentioned in Tolkien's works is Thuringwethil ("Woman of Secret Shadow"). She was Morgoth's messenger. Lúthien disguised herself as Thuringwethil when she snuck into Angband. The only physical attributes mentioned are bat like wings (which could be folded and hidden beneath the capes, no?) and iron claws. So..that's the Vampire info... (PS - I think it would be cool to have at least a few of the hooded figures be "female"..sick of all male baddies smilies/wink.gif)

As for the newbies...before he went AWOL, Gilthalion, our moderator, said that the RPG was closed to newcomers. And as we are already very far along in the story and we have no way to ask him...I think we should stick to his wishes. But if the others have better ideas...?

Khelek's Character and Ancestral Outline:

A wolf pup of seven months, Khelek is intelligent for his age, and strong for his stature. He is pure white, with shaggy fur made for cool climates. Originally, his kind may have been bred from wolf hounds of Oromë, for they are stealthy and silent, with keen eyes and good senses. Indeed, they must have been akin to Huan, taken from Valinor by the Noldorin Elves as they returned to Middle-earth in exile. Many beasts feared them, for the Light of Aman was in their eyes, and the spies of the Dark Lord were often hunted secretly. From these wolves, Morgoth tortured them and corrupted them, as he did to Elves, and they became Wargs, hateful servants of the Enemy. They were ever friends of Elves, but especially Dark Elves, for they could speak mind to mind, an ability which all beasts and Elves have, called osanwe.

His pack was hunting far from their usual boundries in the valley of Rivendell, where they dwelt and guarded the land, unseen by many travellers, a few days after messages had reached Rivendell about Orcs taking Celebrían hostage. Orcs surprised them, taking as many wolves captive as they could, and slayed the rest. Sauron intended to use them for breeding a stronger and more agile type of Warg. Khelek knows nothing of this, however.

In Mirkwood, as the Orcs were hurrying back to Bârad-dur with their captive, Anarya Silverbranch, the young Elf maiden of Thingol's realm, and Rûdhchamion the Dark Elf, took the Orcs at unawares and freed the young wolf pup. From there, their journey takes them to the fortress of Bârad-dur.

Taralphiel is a farmers daughter. No known house. She has elven heritage. Her grandmother was said to be an elf and she had elven heritage on her fathers side. However, her father disappeared and she has been helping to keep her family together. She leaves Calembel (see Tolkiens maps near Minas Tirith) after she marries Eriador and her mother tries to stop her. Thus she finds herself here!

Okay... here's what I was thinking of doing - continue on our route (we are still in the eastern eaves of Mirkwood very near Dol Guldur. I'll post w/ my Orc soon, and more often - he'll prove his title as "the Crazy" soon enough. I plan on finding out that Micanar was not "slain" and will be a challeng once more (that is if I can coax Thenamir into it, I suppose its a long shot since some may react to me doing this smilies/tongue.gif ). Wazrarz has a leader Vampyr w/ him as ally.... a lovely demoness to make things interesting smilies/evil.gif

On the way they may meet some unlooked for ally/ies (like Dura's character for instance). Will Rûdh's group "rescue" Gaya's group when we're inside Dol Guldur or before entering?

How's that? Will the Dark Elf's Co. get captured? Or will it be by some fate they will be able to outsmart the Orcs and get inside Dol Guldur and learn of the plans? Will they come face to face w/ the Captain of the Nazgul (whom I keep forgetting the name of... sheesh).

Now I got some more questions...
Where's Tunuiel? Isn't Mornovarion still in his "dream state"? If so when will he awaken w/ Tinuiel?

Sorry, I might have come across a little harsh there. It was just I had great plans for Mornovarion and those will all be crushed, gone forever, my precious, gollum...

Anyway, here's my idea; Mornovarion after waking up, decides that the best place to get revenge on the servants of the Enemey would be Dol Goldur, and on his way there, he encounters a raiding party of orcs. However, instead of slaughtering them all, as he is capable of, being the cunning person that he shows them them the burn mark of the Eye on his arm, convincing them that he is on a mission from the Dark Lord. He does so that he can get into the group who are going to Dol Goldur, thereby getting in himself. However, Rudmuchon, Anarya and co. spoil his cunning plan by encountering the same group of orcs, the orcs attack them and Mornovarion knowing he cannot stand by and watch his people get attacked, attacks the orcs from the rear, but then we'll need to think of a new way to get into Dol Goldur...
So what do you think, will you ask Gil to change Thranduil's judgment...

GW & Gaya, may I remind you that Rudh & Co. Are a couple of weeks ahead towards Dol Guldur? If Gaya’s company gets captured.. he’ll be captured too. It should be interested... since he’ll want to throttle Daegon once he finds out about the betrayal, no matter the reason.

I have no problem w/ newbies... and new characters. But please read Gilthalion’s rules on the 1st page of the Mirkwood discussion. Um... no dragons please... Smaug just died.

Well...I suppose I could go ahead and post. My character will be one of the minions of the Dark Lord, a vampire of sorts.

Just a robed thing with a hood--maybe a tentacle hanging from a sleeve here and there. Perhaps it was one of the necromancer's servants, but since the necromancer is dead now (from what I've read) it just guards the lands of Dol Guldur from trespassers (by the way, what is in Dol Guldur now that is prompting the company with the white wolf to go there?)

Melichus, vampires don’t have tentacles... unless it was an octopus or squid by origin perhaps. If not a vampire, there are other interesting villains! You could also be an easterling... er, if you really want group up with my Orc captain Wazrarz and Mistress Vampire, Muru smilies/wink.gif

Eruial, hmmm, if you really want to be a villain go ahead, be a vamp. Or if you wish to side with the elves, maybe a human ranger? Just make your character interesting! We also have some characters that have been abandoned... you could resurrect those if you wish! Some are females, others are males. smilies/wink.gif

DC, your dream state is consistent... but maybe it would have been better if you had written more of Morno’s ordeal while he was being tortured. Perhaps inserted more “nasties” that Rudhchcamion and Co. Would be meeting.
Anyways, as it is... why not just write some more, but post Tinuiel in. Have her “mingle” with you’re character. She would try to turn you back to good. I really think she’d make you into an ally, being loyal to Thranduil and being very compassionate... then you could like “try” to make amends and help out the elves.

sorry for the delay in replying... although my comrades in Mirkwood are quite busy at the moment, we do wish for the RPG to continue. We are busy... I for one am kept busy between jobs and hospital, while most players are students, some are amnesiacs, while others are just plain - er, sluggards.

Enough excuses... where do we go from here? I was expecting Gilthalion to come in anytime. But since he hasn't come around I've tried to move the story as best as I could. Except when some, not all of them!, of the females start fainting, or otherwise knocked silly, ehem, I mean knocked unconscious in the middle of battle -I think we've done fine.

What else, what else... who shall lead this adventure? Well, we've been split into two groups, Rudhchamion leads one to Dol Goldur (where Gilthalion had hinted we go). The other is with Rinurion (oh wait, I'm handling him too!) and Gayahithwen. Mornovarion and Tinuiel have been left at Thranduil's kingdom, hopefully to solve the mystery on why elvenkind is being used to turn against their the woodland realm kin.

Sorry for the delay. I couldn’t reformat my harddisk because a lot of things don’t have back-up… and I’m too lazy to back-up every single data. So wish me luck with my seemingly forever battle with the internet and my PC.

When the mystery of Dol Guldor has been revealed and Thranduil has been told of the real danger to his kingdom shall the story end. I’ve mentioned before that the setting of this story was before the War of the Ring… when Sauron was thought to have dwelt in the Hill of Sorcery. It turned out of course that it was one of the Nazguls who was doing his Master’s bidding. This is vital! The Elvenking needs to be aware of the true dangers!

Hmmmm… I seem to recall a dwarf was tortured before being killed there. I have to get back on that… I can’t recall which dwarf. I know it had something to do with one of the dwarven rings, or such. Who knows? Eh? Even Gandalf was curious enough to have come to Dol Goldur secretly to find out the truth… so who knows? Also, the knowledge the Elvenking finds here will trigger his alliance with Celeborn after the War of the Ring.

This was one reason why it was with some regret that the two players (one dwarf and hobbit) never really got into the game. smilies/frown.gif

The Dwarf that was tortured was Thorin's father, wasn't it. Gandalf got the key to the Lonely Mountain, and a map from him.

I'm happy with a 3 month end-date, so long as Morno gets the chance to wake up, go out and kill some orcs.

hmmmm... got to work out with that one. Have to let the bad guys look menacing-like now.

I have a couple of questions and need your opinions on them:
1.) Could Muru communicate with the 3 Nazguls in Dol Goldur?
2.) Muru's powers come from within the Hill of Sorcery... ultimately from Sauron. Would this mean that she was a subordinate of the Nazguls or rank almost equal to them?

I don't want these characters/villains to become super strong... just ME realistic like, that's why I need some opinions here people!

you got it... this RPG is a prequel. Dol Guldur is beseiged by Celeborn (and Galadriel?) and Thranduil. Mirkwood will be freed from all those nassssty creatures after the Fall of the Lord of the Ring.

But before that Thranduil needs to be told of the danger, right?

NOTE: Remember our story begins before Frodo's quest, but after Bilbo gains the Ring.

BTW, where'd everybody else go?
