When your best friend who is a sci-fi/Star Wars fan calls you elf-maid or Tinuviel.

When you answer to both of those better than to your real name.

Your little brother calls your name a few times (at least, I think he did) then says Tinuviel to get your attention and it works.

When you've trained your three-year-old sister to answer to Elfie.

When you can think of things to post on this thread.

I was listening to a group of guys talking about Orlando Bloom yesterday, and they said one of his lines wrong.

~ "there is a fell wind on the air"

When it was supposed to be

~ "there is a fell voice on the air."

I just about attacked him right there. Instead I just did some rather loud rewording from the other side of the room. Been ranting about Ignorant mortals for a couple of days.

I was reading in a magazine yesterday about the interests of the people today, and it was mainly about the interest in fantasy stories, like lotr and Harry Potter.

It was kinda interesting, but then it was talking about the similarities between Harry Potter and Frodo...

They called Frodo:
"de oersaaie hobbit"( in dutch)
translation: the dead-boring hobbit

I'm still recovering...

Here's a tip: don't answer to whatever your real name is. Ask "Who's that?" It worked for me!

When your mother actually sits up to make sure you get off the Downs because she knows that once you see that hypnotic black and green screen you will be sucked into a time warp and not realize that hours are passing in the real world.

When all of your posts on this thread apply to you and aren't just things other people have done. I am a very sad case...

You kill spiders, and run at them madly, waving flashlights and screaming, "A Elbereth Gilthoniel! Aiya Earendil Elenion Ancalima!" and get very strange looks.

You try your hand at designing bags, and tear off the brown leather on a perfectly good black leather briefcase with brown leather trimming, all the metal decals, and put tons of red acrylic paint and gold sequins everywhere, and call it your Harad bag.

You are wondering whether you should come out with a line of clothing that just has Elf and Ranger clothes.

You are wondering whether you should come out with a line of clothing that just has Elf and Ranger clothes.

Your response to the above is: That would be awesome! Can I help?

Your mother gets home from picking your younger sis up from her meeting and asks "Where is everyone?" Your older sis says, "Tinuviel's on the Barrow-downs." Your mother says, "Of course." The exact same thing happens later that evening when your dad gets home from his meeting.

You used to wear your hair in a ponytail for convenience, but you've designed an elvish hairstyle that is even more convenient and now wear it constantly.

these are great guys! I am not worthy of your obssessiveness!

you know your obsessed when...

you have dreams in Elvish (I did, it had subtitles too, pretty cool.)

your friends think you actually believe your an elf and your married to Frodo (I am!)

you qoute the Lay of Gil-galad randomly

when you go for a walk w/ a friend and you qoute one of bilbo's songs that he wrote during The Hobbit (guilty!)

that's all I can think of right now

You know you're obsessed when you obstentatiously make remarks about how different the movies are from the books, whilewatching the movie for the zillionth time.

You know you're obsessed when you advise your lady friends to wear elven-inspired gowns at their weddings. And then you tell them,"You'll look just like Galadriel"

I'm getting a spare copy of Lotr soon. A proper copy, not the split copies. Preferably hardback. But there is no way I would ever lend my books out. They're too precious to me.

I waste too much money on magazines. I bought 3 copies of one magazine recently becuase it had a Rotk article in it. One copy was to keep for reading, and one was to cut the pictures out of. Then I realised that there were two back-to-back sides of great pictures, and I couldn't decide which I wanted on the wall. So I had to go out and buy a third copy just so I could have both sides on my wall. They do that on purpose, putting the best pictures back to back. It's evil.

You know you're obsessed when you start to consider naming your future son Samwise and future daughter Elanor...

You people are stalking me. You just have to be. It's sad but true that most of us are only posting things that we've actually done. I am, for one. Let's see...

You know you're obssessed when you...
-Can always make yourself hyper by thinking LOTR thoughts and dancing around (yes, it's sad, but I do this).
-When you put little signs up on your wall in Tengwar.
-When you go around the grocery store with your mom chanting "precious" under your breath (I did it today!)
-When you are standing around and all of a sudden you say "One gross!" for no particular reason.
-When you write stuff in tengwar with your finger all over the film of ice on an icecream container.
-When your friends think you're a hobbit.
-When you think the highest compliment is being referred to as a hobbit or an elf.

That's all for now. I'll probably do more later and come back to post it.

Quit spying on me!!! smilies/wink.gif Bonus points if you've done this at school. (and double bonus points if what you write is some obscure insult and you refuse to translate. smilies/evil.gif )

You're obsessed when you:
~sign your elven name more often than your real name.
~have Middle-earthean dates written in on your calender.
~are counting down to RotK, and have been from the exact instant that you saw Towers for the first time.
~instead of bringing your "assigned reading" to youth camp during the summer, you bring a copy of Fellowship.
~have the general reputation as "that LotR chick" or "the elf girl".
~you sign all your posts (everywhere) in Sindarin.

Naming my children (if I ever have any) after Tolkien's characters? But of course! Only all the names I currently have listed come from the Silm. The ones from the trilogy are too well-known now. I don't want it to be said of my children that they were named after a movie.

-When you think the highest compliment is being referred to as a hobbit or an elf.

Definitely! Ah, how wonderful to be called (yes, my little sis actually calls me this) "an elvish hobbitish cat!" I love cats, and I love Tolkien, so next to Tinuviel, that is my favorite nickname.

You know you're obsessed when you start to consider naming your future son Samwise and future daughter Elanor...

Of course I'm going to do that! Who wouldn't? Other names on my list are Beren, Luthien and Peregrin (it's a real name!). I might only do LOTR middle names, though. I don't know what my family would think with 13 children with LOTR names running around. Oh, and what do you suppose ours spouses will think of all this (when we marry, I'm assuming most of us here are younger)? Or is it a given that freaks such as us can only marry other obssessed LOTr freaks? In that case it would be a sort of an exchange: "Dear, I know you like the name Fingolfin better than Beleg, but the Next one can be Fingolfin." "Okay. Or can we just name our daughter Eowyn?" Either we'd have to have a lot of kids,or else the said children would have to have many many many names.

Doesn't everyone have extra copies? I have my very dear one volume edition with the Alan Lee picture of the tents in front of the Black Gate on the cover, and then I have the old boxed set my dad practically gave me, and those are for lending and taking with me to school.

You're obssessed when you call every object that gets in your way or doesn't do what you want it to "vile fiend of Morgoth".

-You spend time on the Barrow-Downs when you really should be doing other things (guilty as charged!)

-When you're proud of your obssession.

-When you'd rather live in Middle-Earth than anywhere else.

-When you get all of your friends obssessed.

-When you create little clubs where everyone is an elf (and I was Luthien!!)

-When you're at a party or campout and you randomly decide to roleplay something from LOTR (complete with sticks for swords!), and even though all of the other people are girls, you want to play a guy so that you can fight (Aragorn, or a hobbit, or perhaps a girl who fights, like Eowyn, sometimes even an orc).

-When you go to get a shot, and you think: "If Frodo and Sam could go to Mordor, I can live through this shot".

-When everyone thinks Middle'Earth is all you ever talk about.

-When your parents say that you talk about LOTR at least once a day.

-When you amuse yourself by playing through your extended Fellowship DVD in slow motion (that is fun!).

Okay, I'll stop now.
I would make people call me Luthien, but I'm pretty happy with my real name. It's really not that bad.

You know you're obsessed with LOTr when...
1)You answer your friend's questions in Elvish by mistake.

2)You sew a picture of Legolas on your pillow.

3)You won't eat watermelon because "mellon" is friend in Elvish.

4) Your parents send you to your room when you mention LOTR.

5) You found about 20 clubs at school and get all your friends involved too.

6) When you watch the movie every weekend.

7)When you have every picture of LOTR floating around the world wide web on your hard drive.

8)You call your dad "Old Gaffer."

9) When you have a baby, the doctors overhear you say "He has gandalf's nose."

10) You go without food or water for a few weeks to really sympathize with Gollum (and end up in the hospital.)

When the characters of LOTR Talk to you in your head...

Don't worry Elen Ilúvitauri, you're not mental! I have voices in my head too (heh. not like that means much)! His name is Erik (y'know... Erik... the Phantom of the Opera!!! Him! Surely you know who he is!). And my Muse lives in my head too. Her name's Serina. She's a ventriliquist. Like Erik. I'll shut up now.

Back on topic:

You know when it gets a little too quiet and you randomly shout things like "HAZMATS!!" (don't ask)? Well, the other day I was at my friend's sleepover and it was too quiet so I yelled, "Make Middle-Earth a friendlier place, hug a balrog today!" Weird looks. Then, "What? I am a man of yellow colors. Shhhh! They're watching us..." Even weirder looks. "Ummmm... I put the error in the word...um...TERROR!!!" After that, Serina told me to shut up. So did Erik. I did. For the time being.

"Monica," my friend asked, "are you sure that you're alright?"

And then I started singing. "It's creepy and it's kooky, mysterious and spooky, there's just one thing to do-ee...the ring must be destroyed!"

Y'know, I'm not too sure of my mental condition anymore...

*EDIT: I just realized that I narrate my own life in my head as it's happening. I creep myself out...

Oh dear. I did that in my head as I was reading your post.

On copyright infringement - I thought Tolkien made up words, such as twain, an (for if) and thrall. I looked these up on dictionary.com and they are all actual historical words. So maybe he's not plagiarising.

Okay, two: Almost all the gifts you give your friends for birthday, Christmas, etc, are LOTR-related (I've given copies of The Silmarillion, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, a glass goblet from Burger King with Frodo on it, two Cedco(r) daily LOTR calendars, and I think a bookmark).

I saw an ent. Actually, I think it was an entwife. She was rather distant, but I would swear that I saw a tree-like figure bending over the plants in a gardenish spot. When I got there, she was gone, but there were strange impressions in the dirt.

On the subject of coming to the Downs every day, my parents have threatened to change my password so that I can't get on. Oh, the horror!

I just realized that I narrate my own life in my head as it's happening. I creep myself out...

You do that too? Does it sound like a fantasy novel in your head as well?

So true. Except for me, its especally when I'm walking to, not from, school. But... recite? RECITE? You must sing them! They're so much better when you put a merry tune to them.

Oh, come now, guy who be short, you know very well that for some of the poems it was explicity stated that they were chanted or spoken, not sung. I have a tune for most of them, except one or two where I can find no suitable tune, but would you truly sing The Ring Poem, or Aragorn's poem (All that is gold does not glitter...)? -When you decide that you actually prefer "kelebrate" to "selebrate".

-When you talk to your parents about "kelebrating" and they give you weird looks.

-When you start talking about the Barrow-Downs (once again to your parents), you get ignored, and they start talking about something different.

-When you get really bored and go through your dictionary finding words that would be pronounced differently in the Elvish languages than in English, and pronounce them the Elvish way (ex: read through all the words starting with "ce", "ci", "ai", and "ei". It's fun. You all should try it. You come up with some really crazy things.)

-You see a bottle of vitamins at the store and get all happy because it says "Sam-e" (S-adenosylmethionine).

And what about those songs which require mournful tunes instead of merry ones? Hmmmm? Would you sing Sam's Song in the Tower in a happy voice?

Not sung, but the ring poem and Aragorns poem have certain rhythms to them which I always keep. And all songs must be merry! (My friend shouted at me for singing the Lay of Gilgalad with a happy tune.)

You have started writing a diary for the first time in many years. The purpose of this is that it's in Cirth and Tengwar, and you want to show off your obsessedness at the BD.

When you walk past a beech in the spring you automatically start singing "When spring unfurls the beachen leaf..."

I have to make a confession. Until yesterday (well, the day before that now) I did not own a copy of the Ext. Edition of FotR. This was not due to my own lack of desire, mind, but through my parents' lack. Finally, after waiting almost two years, I have it.

My sister began to regret buying it in the checkout line, though, because I started jumping up and down right there in the middle of the store. While that's not so unusual for small children to do, I'm 17 and so nearly an adul.t that it's very silly for me to be jumping up and down and chanting some ditty about getting the Ext. Edition.

Never mind that it's got the gifts, and fixes Galadriel and it has all these great deleted scenes...

At home, I have to wash the dishes. So, whenever I'm doing chores, I sing Middle-earth songs. It's relaxing.

I drew Thror's map a while back and, since it turned out nicely, I keep it in a frame on my wall.

I do that sometimes. I used to listen to my LOTR soundtracks while doing dishes, but I had to adjust the volume too much and it got annoying (the songs go from really quiet to really loud, and I don't my neighbors would appreciate hearing it, especially since my mom says you can hear it already if you stand outside of our front door).

And Tinuviel: I know how you feel. I did just about the same thing about a month ago. We didn't get the extended version until June. My parents like it a lot, they're just not as excited about it as I am.

Luthien, I have started a notebook with all the poems and songs from LOTR. I started earlier this summer and am now over half way through FOTR. You'd be surprised how long it takes to write some of the stuff down! Sometimes it takes me days for one song. I definitely recommend doing it though.

Oh? And which ones would those be? smilies/smile.gif

you make people who have food/drink/dirty hands stay 10 feet away from your collection telling them everything is "worth more then your life"

I'm always nervous when I let my friends handle any of my books, Tolkien books in particular. There's only one friend I can trust wiht them, and that's because he's even more concerned about the welfare of books than I am.

When creepy little kids you don't even know tell you that you look like a hobbit

How about the opposite? When creepy little kids you don't know look like hobbits themselves! (We have a few of those at my church. One of friends says that one of the little kids looks like Gollum.)

I'm pretty obsessed. I baked a pie and cut the "Doors of Durin" in the top crust.

That's really cool! I should seriously try that. Perhaps on my birthday cake..... *wheels in mind start turning furioulsy*

And now for a few of my own! (All of which I have done)

When you go through those catalogs of special cakes at the grocery store, looking for a LOTR cake, and either think about how unfair it is that they have a Star Wars cake and a Harry Potter cake, but they couldn't be bothered to make a LOTR cake, or else you get all happy because they do have LOTR cakes, and you start thinking up a way to get one of those fo ryour next birhtday party. (Now that was a run-on sentence worthy of the Round-About Game thread).

When you're at a bookstore and your mom asks if they have any old LOTR posters (the ones that they hang up around the store) so that you could have one. They've never given me one, though. smilies/frown.gif

When you think it's a major accomplishment to get other people more obssessed.

When you get really excited that someone mentions Tolkien or LOTR in conversation, and start going on and on about that.

When conversation dies, you immediately say something about LOTR in hopes of starting a discussion about that.

You get all excited when they play a preview advertising the TTT DVD at Blockbuster, and you watch it three times while you're there. (I did that yesterday!)

When you watch a movie that has an LOTR actor in it, and that fact causes you great amusement.

When you do the above and you just can't see the actor as whatever character they're supposed to be, instead you think "Hey! There's Boromir!"

When you get really hyper after coming home from Blockbuster (see above) partially because you're so bored and partially because it's possible that you will get to see your favorite LOTR actor in another good movie (maybe I'm just weird).

When you really bored at said Blockbuster, so you wander around looking for LOTR movies (new or cartoon).

When you have time to kill at the library, so you wander around looking at Tolkien books that you already have for no particular reason.

Well, that was a long list! Long live LOTR-obssession! smilies/biggrin.gif

You had to show this site to your doctor to prove that there really are others like you.

Tried this, but my doctor still won't believe me.

When you go online at least twice in the same hour so that you can fake the computer into saying that you have only been on for half an hour.

When your friends refuse to evengo to the movies with you for fear that you will see an LotR poster.

My brother used to sit and watch me post on the Downs, now he just screams and runs away when I go in the internet.

When you know Downers better than you know the people in your classes at school.

Me too! The thing is, I wouldn't want to know most of the people in my classes very well..... smilies/rolleyes.gif

When you think the Barrow-Downs counts as socialization. (That one should really be on the other thread).

When your mom starts making obscure LOTR references to amuse you ("Hey look, here's a brochure for a class on knives! You would enjoy that, wouldn't you?")

When your mom starts bringing up random LOTR topics in conversation.

Another obscure reference one: Your mom has a joke with you about "pints", and you talk about pints often, even in front of other people ("Do you have your pint?" [Did you know that a normal-sized bottle of water is usually about a pint? smilies/evil.gif ]) or else showing each other coupons for pints (of icecream) and grinning evilly.

I seem to really be affecting my mom, don't I? And that's not even the beginning of it.

Okay, here be mine (enjoy):

You spend the whole of your luch period at lordoftherings.net waiting for Billy Boyd. One day, at my dad's office, we got Billy Boyd first off. Genevieve and I danced around chanting "Bill-y Boyd" over and over. I got really wierd looks from my Dad!

When ever you see a spider you scream "DIE MINION OF SHILOB!!!!" and attack it with a swifter (Genevieve just puts a dixie cup over it, and gets help, so cute!)

I have seen many ents, mainly ones that resemble hemlocks (lanky and thin) and spruces (burly) thought. They're very majestic up here (AK). I don't care what you say, I've seen many of them!

Okay, my friend wrote this, and I helped some. It goes to that one song (I don't know the name of)"...we took a little bacon, and we took a little beans, and we fought the bolddy British at the Battle of New Orleans"

In thirty nineteen we took a litte trip, along with all the Riders along the Mighty Anduin. We took a little Lembas and we took a lot of beer, and we met the Nameless Army on the Fields of Pelenor.

We loosed our arrows but the orcs kept a comin'. There wasn't neigh as many as there was a while ago. Frodo burned the ring and they comenced a runnin', on up the Poros River to the gates of Moradora (it had to fit!)
We all went back to Gondor, where Aragorn was crowned. Two sets of lovers married, and a new white tree was found.
(so yah, feel free to add on)

When ever I'm about to go onstage, I chant "Feanor give me streanght" It works too, it gets reid of all my butterflies!

Yah, I do alot of other things, but hose are the best!

When your best friend makes up her own language, just so that she can have comebacks to your random elvish.

When you're in line for a roller coaster, and it's a really long line, and you start talking to the in front of you. Somehow, you manage to get the conversation around to LotR, and educate her very thoroughly about why the movies are not the best source for LotR knowledge. You then explain to her exactly why HP is not a wizard...

You no longer get strange looks from your best friend when you say random things involving LotR. (It's best when it's a quote from the book only, because she doesn't know those yet.)

You know you're obsessed when you continually attempt to write poetry with a prosopopoeia (or apostrophe) to any of the Valar.

You know you're obsessed when you insist on refering to yourself as an elf-friend.

You know you're obsessed when you complement pretty ladies by saying, "You look as worshipful as Galadriel".

You know you're obsessed when you've registerd in every LOTR-related site you can find.

Yep...That's me. Although sometimes they'll roll their eyes and give me that "Here she goes again" look...

*heh heh...I book mark waaaaay too many sites*

That's me! I have a section for LOTR things, a section for Barrowdowns things, a humor section which contains mostly LOTR humor, and a section for my favorite LOTR character (*coughcough*Sam*coughcough*). smilies/smile.gif

Ah, yes, one has made progress if one no longer receives strange looks. Although for some of us that stage is probably not that hard to reach. smilies/tongue.gif

I thought of a few more things I've done, so what could I do but share them with you all?

-When you notice little things written in Tengwar (done by other LOTR freaks), and you translate it. Response: "You can read that?!?" (I knew a guy who haad this necklace thingie that he carved elendili into, and so of course when I translate and we start to discuss the two meanings of the word, we get a couple of weird looks, "not agains", and "come ons" from the other people at our play practice).

-When you spend half an hour or so figuring out the characteristics of the an thennath poetic form, and write it all out as if doing a poetic analysis, instead of doing your homework (proof that anything is fun as long as it has to do with LOTR: I don't like doing poetic analysis. I liked doing this. Or perhaps it also has something to do with the fact that the only poem in an thennath that I know of is the poem about Luthien in FOTR). smilies/biggrin.gif

There! Were those long enough?

I think someone already said something similiar to this, but... I was swimming with my cousin in her pool and she said "Hey pass me the pig" (we had this wierd pig pool toy) and I replied "If you want him come and claim him! Nin o Chithaeglir, lasto beth daer
Rimmo nin Bruinen dan in Ulaer!" And then I was surprised when it didn't work. My cousin just stared...

You do that too? I thought I was alone...

Your dad reads FotR to your younger sibs, you're three rooms away, catch a sentence, and finish the scene in your head.

Your baby sister can say Laurelindorinan due to your persistence in teaching her.

Yeah, same here. I'm sure I've done this, I just can't remember a specific instance (it sounds like something I would do). But it's really hard to get it right. The whole a,b,a,c,b,a,b,c thing is quite challenging (if anyone knows what I mean). smilies/smile.gif

~I got two new kittens and named them nothing other than, Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton.

~I like to dressup in Middle-earthen garb and swing a sword around. The other night I chopped off several inches of the pullchain on my ceiling fan doing that. Unintentionally, of course!

~I so long to build a hobbit-hole on my grandfather's farm in North Carolina. I also want to broaden the stream in his front yard and name it The Water. My sister thought this was dumb, but my mom says that lots of people build underground houses.

~I named the big creek on my granfather's farm, Bruinen. It has a GREAT place to act out the Arwen/Ringwraith scene!

I carved the elf rune that Gandalf uses into a Magnolia tree in my back yard. By the way, I prefer to call them Mallorn trees. I also carved this rune at the rifle range (I call it Mordor). I wrote with a white rock on black rocks.

I think someone already said someone similar to this

I think it was me, Elfearz. I recall having done something liken to that while swimming with my sister & her friend.

smilies/biggrin.gif That's great! I love to wear my cloak around...randomly... with my Ring and my "hobbit pants" ...So much fun.

Heh heh heh smilies/evil.gif I sculpted the scene at the end of FotR with Frodo and Sam in the boat. *sniffles* I love that scene-it's one of my favorites. Makes me all teary...

The only thing with that is...the dough kinda melts in the oven...so the shape doesn't stay too well... Frodo and Sam kinda melted together to create a massive blob in the middle of half an Elven boat...

I have pictures! I was so proud smilies/biggrin.gif I should post them... I made Frodo, Sam, Boromir, Gimli, the eye of Sauron, and the boat scene. Heh heh... Sam kinda..broke. I dropped him... smilies/frown.gif but I ate the others. Yum.

Excellent! smilies/smile.gif

Well, a few more of mine (I keep forgetting the really good ones! Argh!):

-Yesterday I was randomly standing around and pretending to swordfight (even the sword was imaginary, mind you) in much the same way that Aragorn does in the movie. It was fun! smilies/biggrin.gif

-Many years ago, my class had fish in our room. Well, I fish-sat over the summer, and I named them all! There was Frodo, the young goldfish, and Sauron and Saruman, the little silvery ones, and I think the black-and-white ones were Gandalf and Sam or something like that!

-This isn't really about obssession as it is something that would make you happy if you're obssessed: When your parents actually seem to enjoy talking about LOTR with you! smilies/biggrin.gif

smilies/biggrin.gif Yeah! That makes me happy. I love explaining LotR things to people, it makes me feel smart. And *that* is a rare thing! smilies/tongue.gif

--When you dress up like a hobbit/elf/ect, and prance around your house or in public- and it's not Halloween. smilies/evil.gif

--When you recite lines from LotR from the faintest resemblance. Like at my house...

My sister: *holds up object* It glitters!
Me: (complete with distant expression)All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost...
My Mom: (confused) What?
Me: (back down to Earth-unfortunatly) It's from the Lord of the Rings.
Everyone in room: *eye roll*

Your baby sister can say Laurelindorinan due to your persistence in teaching her. I did something like that. I was pet sitting for this talking bird and I tried to teach it lotr names.

That's great! I love to wear my cloak around...randomly... with my Ring I did that the other day. When I was doing my 'walk to rivendell' I got a lot of wierd stares. especially since everyone says I look a lot older then I really am.

When you shape sugar cookies into LotR characters and act out scenes with them when fotr came out on video I threw a party and wore bright yellow 'Tom' boots and made lotr themed food, which included bill the pony cookies (because I had a horse cookie cutter)

(I keep forgetting the really good ones! Argh! me too.

When I went to PotC with my friend, the film melted, and to pass the time while we were waiting for them to fix it we pretended to swordfight, with air swords, and I died. It was so fun!

I love pretend swordfighting... I have not clue what I'm doing, though so it's basically just me waving my hand around like an idiot... But that's okaaaaay... smilies/biggrin.gif

I dressed up like a hobbit yesterday and scared my sister's boyfriend. I was speaking in Shire talk. "G'day, sir! Lovely day, isn't it? All bright and sunny and all; if you were to go out there you would sure melt on the pavement, and no mistake!"

That inspires me:
-You speak like a hobbit (or an elf...)
-You have dreams where you are Frodo *guilty sigh*
-You stay up till 3 in the morning reading LotR fanfiction. *Me?! No!*

When you "borrow" pages from your Grans newspaper, cut out LotR characters from there, stick them on your wall, and pretend it never happened.
