quote:
To whomever posted about the pot-bellied starving Gollum (sorry, once again, a memory lapse), technically that's accurate for starvation.

That was me, and it's alright. But starving people's bellies bulge out like that? I never really knew that. Come to think of it now, I have seen that on those charity commercials. Maybe that director decided to be correct by giving Gollum a pot belly, but I dont think he really did have one, even if he was sorry.
And about the bad points in the animated LotR, Chancellen the True pointed out a big reason for this. It was the technology during the period it was made. It was reletively primitive, and if you add that to the low budget, you're not going to get that great of a film. But considering those obstacles I thought they did pretty good. And who cares if Boromir looks like a viking. In the Hobbit, the elf king of Mirkwood looked like a blue freak that Dr. Suess drew or something. And so what if Aragorn looked like an indian. In the Hobbit Smaug looked like meow's would have been coming out of his mouth rather than fire. I'm not going to compare it to RotK because that, well, is a few (hundred) steps down from these two movies.
