The dead ones rise, the waters run
The merry downers sing
Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night

The Barrow downs, as jewels white
Amid the branching threads.

Though here at journey's end I lie
In barrows buried deep
Beyond all moderators strong
Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadow rides the sun
And Wights forever dwell
I will not say the topics done
Nor bid the Wights farewell.
