I had a dream where Firefoot was evil and tricksy and led a bunch of people through some desert to find something that didn't exist or something like that.

And I had a dream where HerenIstarion was in fact a jester named 'Josh' or something along those lines.

I've had two BD dreams lately. The first I had several days ago. I had gotten up early to post in WW, spent some time on the 'Downs, then turned off the computer and gone back to sleep. When I was sleeping I had this dream. In it, Mithalwen was an elementary school teacher who looked exactly like Eowyn in Lhunardawen's avatar. She was teaching a bunch of very unruly kids, and she was outside on the playground supervising recess. The children were constantly writing annoying little poems about her and reading them aloud to her. Anyway, she made a costume of Eowyn's shieldmaiden dress, but was too nervous to wear it to schoool for a while. Somebody finally convinced her to wear it, and she did, but the neckline of the vest was too high and the sleeves of the dress were wrong. (I think this part was influenced by the fact that I had been reading the What LotR Costumes/Clothes Have You Made? thread.) Anyway, one of the male teachers at the school apparently had a crush on Mith, and her students were the first ones to figure it out. They wrote an annoying little poem telling her this, and so the other teacher finally confessed his feelings to her while they were standing in the parking lot. My apologies Mith, for my bizzare subconcious!

Last night, I had another LotR dream. I was at a robotics competition, and somehow the Barrow-Wight was working with my team. He found out that I was a BDer and wanted to talk to me then. I don't remember too much of the dream, except that there was an all-girl team who had black shirts with Burrahobbit's avatar on them. Also, there was some girl on my team who I'd never met before who turned out to be a BDer, and I had a conversation with her. I seem to recall that we all ate cake and ice cream (with caramel sauce) and that there was also something that people called "15 hour sauce" (which turned out to be pure caffiene) that they were putting on the ice cream too. 'Twas a very strange dream!

The Only Real Estel's comments on the Reputations thread reminded me of a dream I had the other night. I dreamt that I received an unsigned reputation (a positive one) but it was so nonsensical that I wanted to PM the sender to ask what it meant. Because it wasn't signed I spent the whole dream going through the members list and PMing people to ask if they had sent it, but everyones inboxes were full so I couldn't get through! Then suddenly everyone cleared their inbox all at once and I got about a hundred messages (somehow mine did not become full) and they all wanted to claim this rep. I have no idea who it actually belonged to in the end but I felt so exhausted when I woke up because in the dream I was physically running around the Downs from thread to thread. It was a bit odd.

I actually ended up having two Barrow Downs dreams last night.
In the first dream I was on the Hindenburg blimp and Mormegil was the pilot. And I begged to be let off, but morm just laughed at me.

In my second dream Gil-Galad kept showing up in the latest werewolf and was voting for random people. First he voted for morm, then the Barrow Wight, then I think someone that doesn't even exist on the Barrow Downs.

A short description of TGWBS's sleep patterns

I typically go to sleep between the hours of 10pm and midnight. I am woken at about 6-7 by my parents noisily leaving to go to work. I then fall back to sleep and wake up at about 10.

Anyway, because of this, I get to remember two sets of dreams. However, because of falling asleep in between them, I only remember the first set vaguely.

A lot of the shorter dreams are from when I get woken at 7, and are thus only half remembered.

A dream about Eomer of the Rohirrim

I flew on a broom (too much HP? I haven't even read any for days...) to a huge shopping centre shaped like a cathedral. It was made of red (painted) steel and glass, mostly glass. Eomer owned it and was happily there, in the form of Snoopy, in the middle. The glass hadn't actually been put into the building yet, so it was just the steel infrastructure that was actually up.

What this means I have no idea. Perhaps I think Eomer should improve his grip on finances?

I remember studying dreams a couple of years ago. Well, I use the word 'studying' but I really mean staring blankly in lectures. Anyway, I know what you mean by the separate segments of sleep guy. Also, is it true that you're more likely to have Barrowdowns dreams if you've been browsing the site for hours before sleep? I know that I tend to dream about the Downs during my periods of obsession. However, I never really have dreams about doors and I encounter many doors each day. What's all that about?

I've just remembered, to tag onto the last dream, that Eomer (in Snoopy form) was deliriously happy because he was selling lots of products in his still-half-completed shopping centre.

I had a dream about the latest werewolf game. The only thing was everyone was a stick figure. And me being the wolf I am was going around impaling everyone's stick figure heads on spears. And the last person I left alive was TGWBS.
I might have found it disturbing if it didn't involve stick figures.

I had a dream last night. It was... odd. Very short, and very little to do with anything going on in my life that I can think of.

I was walking through my old high school and saw a notice board. On it was a list of names of famous people who would be visiting "next Monday". On it were a few names that I can't for the life of me remember, but the second on the list was Bethberry. I remember thinking in my dream "Whoa! How'd my school learn about Bethberry?!? That's crazy."

Then I woke up. The end.

PS: Beth's name actually had the little ê in it! My dreams have better use of alt codes that my waking life does.

I experience a creepy dream about breakfast last night... Seriously! Breakfast foods were involved!


Anyways, I'm in some 'community'-like kitchen and walking around looking at the lovely tile, then out of no where I look up and someone from the downs (they have blonde hair... That's all i remember, so don't get your hopes up at a name) is cooking. Before I can sneek out, they wip around with a plate of something and give it to me. They start spouting off something like:

" You should eat it, it's really good. I found some eggs in the back of the fridge and other things to make it with. See? There was only three pieces of spinach, and two pieces of bacon in it."

I look at them for a minute in disbelief, ask if they have ever actually eaten any of it. Oh course, they haven't, so i'm left with them looking at me trying to make me eat it. The eggs looked somewhat greenish and there's this odor stuff coming off of it, so I say 'no thank you, maybe another time'.

All I can remember from that point was that they were slightly angry and they walked out of the kitchen. That's it.

I can't figure out why I didn't post this earlier - I dreamt it more than a week ago - but it was scary. I think it would make a good horror film.

Well, Firefoot was the leader of an evil pack of werewolves who inhabited a parallel universe. She opened a portal into ours, and suddenly, the entire planet was being bitten in the night.

I remember watching a news report about how the werewolf epidemic was worst in Africa - in Eritrea the werewolf population had reached 40%.

Anyway, basically, the world was under siege from Firefoot and her band of evil werewolves from the next universe along. There was a lot more to the dream - I was trying to stop Firefoot somehow - but as I've left it so late, I've forgotten all that. Sorry. I've also completely forgotten how Firefoot looked - furry, most likely.


Oh, and mormegil, you haven't been forgotten. I dreamt you were writing loads of huge essays full of complex interpretations of Tolkien in a new sub-forum devoted to your essays.

That brings me up to 14 people. Try and beat that! I could host a dream-party...

Well, I'll admit it's a little odd, but my latest dream was about GlingleglingleglingleFairy. I have no idea who it is, but somebody mentioned him/her in the Which Downer Am I? quiz.

I was next to a forest talking to a friend when three little toddlers, aged 3-4 maybe, came out of it with their hands on each other's shoulders, like a conga. They were very cherub-like and kept chanting "glingleglingleglingleglingleglingle" as they conga-ed along. Odd, no?

This was an odd dream, combining BD and HP. But HerenIstarion likes HP anyway.

I was on MSN when suddenly I got sucked through and ended up in Georgia. H-I was working on a computer, typing away, looking just like he does in the photo album. He was at a long desk with a woman typing on his left and a man on his right. He also had the BD site open, but whenever anybody came near he minimized it, and since his workmates didn't know how to minimise, that was all good and fine.

Another interesting note is that I was in the USSR. Don't ask me how I knew. I just did. H-I and his office were in the modren day - but the USSR still existed in the dream.

H-I apologised to me, because he had the old version of MSN and couldn't transport me home through it (evidently he was a wizard). However, one of his workmates, Hansi, would do it as soon as he finished work.

I got bored waiting around and stepped out of the offices. Outside, there were stairs to go down, but also about twelve massive dogs (I have a phobia of big dogs). I wanted to go down, but I wasn't allowed out of the office (it was unproductive) without some dogs. So two dogs took me down, but there was nothing there, so I came back up.

Upon entering the office, I found that something had happened to Hansi (he was either dead, fainted, or taken to hospital). I got worried that I wouldn't be able to get home, but luckily H-I transported me using Hansi's computer.

I had a Downs related Dream last night.

Me and a company of Downers were travelling through Moria. For some reason. We got to the Bridge of Kazad-dum and found it broken (Because of Gandalf fighting Mr Balrog) it then chanced that, for some reason, Gil-gallad was on the other side. We asked him to help but he decided to break the rest of the bridge as well. Needless to say, most of us were unhappy with this and we found some wooden planks that went across the gorge.
When across the gorge we chased Gil to Lorien where we found that he was planning to build a new bridge, one that would not break by the tap of a staff.

It was immensely strange.

I had a dream a few nights ago that my sister (Oro) and I were sitting at a table in this sort of tavern thing and Dominic Monaghan was sitting at the table next to us and he was wearing this blue shirt with potatoes somehow sewn inside it. He then walked out into this hallway, and we heard someone announce that they were going to play a song ( I can't remember its name, although I know it had the word "Faerie" in it) that was somehow dedicated to Scotland and we were sad that Dominic Monaghan would have to miss it. So we walked over to this place in the room where there was a raised dance floor and a guy with some sort of stringed instrument that you pluck who was singing the song, the lyrics of which somehow involved the Quiz Room and LotR. From that point, our converation went something like this:

"Hey that must be Eomer!"
"Do we know of any other Scottish B-Ders?"
"He looks a lot like Denethor."

I also remember there was this one string on his instrument which had the same color as the links here, and that I knew that this was a "link string," and that if the string was plucked, it would take us somewhere. The string, however, was not plucked.

I unfortunately don't remember any thing more than that.

I dreamt that I received a PM (I forget who from, possibly Oromin) and it turned into a rep when I clicked on it! It said something like "Very nice knowing you, but I'm leaving forever."

I have a vague feeling Gil-Galad was somewhere in my mind too last night.

I had a dream last night about Feanor. She was in my old high school just drawing pictures of the Loony Tunes and at one point she drew the Roadrunner choking Wile E Coyote. She looked over at me and said "I'm so sick of that coyote chasing the Roadrunner." There was more to the dream, but no more involving Feanor.

I had a dream that put members of the Downs in Harry Potter. Like, Ka was Luna Lovegood, Gil was Harry, Enca was Hermione someone was Ron but I dont remember for sure who, there were many more but I can't remember the details. All I know is that it was weird.

Just found this... I like the idea of looking just like Eowyn, dislike the teaching (the ones I "taught" were beyond unruly - more into assault), wearing LOTR costumes as an adult other than as a joke at a fancy dress party for me is a pecadillo that should be confined to the privacy of one's own home. Sounds terribly like my sewing skils though!!! Main question: was he cute?

Actually, I can't remember. I believe he had glasses, but that's all I can really recall. It's odd, because I can remember certain bits of that dream very well now (you standing on some steps wearing the Eowyn dress and the mistake in its neckline), and other parts only barely. My mind works in odd ways...

Last night I dreamt Eomer sent me a long PM about football (Soccer), his favourite teams, etc. etc. It must've been at least two A4 pages and bored me stiff. For some reason I could also see him - he actually managed eyeliner on both eyes.

I also dreamt that Kath updated her MSN Space. I went to read it and it was all about her fantastic time in Jamaica - even though she's actually gone to Spain.

Odd subconscience, no?

I had a dream last night.

I was walking down the hall at my highschool when suddenly the new student from Australia bumped into me, knocking all my books on the floor. I picked them up and looked at who had knocked me down. He was wearing a Barrow Downs t-shirt. I smiled and asked him if he was a member on the forum. He said yes. I told him I was wilwarin538 and he said he was Eomer. So I asked him, very confused, "I thought you were from Scotland?", and then the dream was over.

There were a few things wrong with this dream. First of all, the Barrow Downs t-shirt was purple, second of all Eomer looked nothing like he really looks, and third, I know very well that he is Scottish but my dream made him Australian.

I had a BD dream this morning. I got up, ate breakfast, read for a bit, and then fell back asleep. In my dream I was looking at at a thread that only had two posts on it. The first post was by Starbreeze, but her (I think Starbreeze is a her) PT, instead of saying "Ghost of a Smile," said something (maybe "Ignorance"? I think it started with an I) "of Sauron" and her avatar was of Nazgul on Fell Beasts flying around Mount Doom. I don't remember who the second post was by, but that persons name started with "Ash" and had 2 z's in it. That person asked a question, and oddly enough Starbreeze replied to it in the first post, as if the thread was backwards. I think the question may have been about PT's, and then Starbreeze said something to the effect of "That's only for us oldsters." It's funny, because now that I look at her profile, I see that she has fewer posts than I do. I think in my dream she had many more.

I had a dream last night about a new WW game where I was the seer, while there were some BDers there were hundreds of people playing and I was the only seer. I had a dream about Andre Kirilenko. It was really odd and hopeless because of the hundres of people I was only able to get two or three dreams in before the wolves killed me.

I'm so jealous of all you people having all of these cool Barrow-Downs dreams. For some reason, I never have any. Maybe it's because I don't truly know what any of you look like. Even if your pic is on the pic page, I still don't know what you look like in three dimensions from head to toe like people I know in person.

Or maybe my dreams have featured Barrow-Downers and I just don't remember them, which doesn't really count. I can tell you, it really is disappointing that I've never had a BD dream when you consider how much time I've spent here over the past few years. There are bunches of cool guys and hot women on this site, so I have no doubt that a Barrow-Downs dream would be loads of fun. I just wish I could have one. Any tips?

It's easy to reconcile those sentences.

Sentence two is an observation based upon two dimensional pictures that I have seen.

Sentence one states that I cannot see other members from head to toe in three dimensions like people in RL.

Those two things don't conflict. You cannot, with complete accuracy, picture someone in 3D when you have only seen them in 2D- and you certainly can't picture them head to toe when you have only seen a shot of their head. Duh. Also, it is perfectly possible to assess a general level of hotness from a two dimensional picture, wouldn't you agree?

Any other unnecessary homework?

As for general tips, I think they would best come from the guy who be short, who by now seems ready to take over a small country with his dreamed BarrowDowners army. Or, next time when someone gives you a stuffed animal, try naming it the Barrow-Wight and see what happens?
