This makes him a very poor advisor, so Theoden decides to fire him. Actually literally firing him: he ties the poor man to one of Gandalfs rockets and sends him flying to the moon. There he met Tilion, whom he became a very goo friend with (both of them lacked of other friends) and all ended happily!
