Abuse it as much as you'd like. . .even if the letters are right there should be a fair few of possible answers.

Why are you guys looking for names ending in G? I thought the last letter would be P for Pippin ... or am I missing something really obvious? So ... groupp?

annoying rascall is open for interpretation. . . . I never found pippin annoying save for in the movies. Gollum and Sam however I found very annoying. |

So the hero must be Ecthelion of the Fountain and not Glorfindel. . .

Yay. Been ages since I've done one of these so this'll be horribly easy! This uncaught serial killer changed his name by one letter.

Take it as a compliment - it was a clue that "followed the rules" perfectly which made it easy for someone who knew the rules and had been around long enought to be aware of a MIA downer with an eyesplitting name. As ever it will be a hard act to follow... One for Downers of a certain age perhaps.... The Downs' answer to John McEnroe?

You were on the right path Bethberry but drawn the wrong conclusions... Beleg I don't know who you mean but I mean (oops) John McEnroe, three time Wimbledon champion.

Perhaps someone who, try as he/she might, simply cannot be serious, and therefore... ... is it Serious Cat? In an altogether serious response to Mr MacEnroe? I.e. "Oh, but I are!"

I love this answer and the thought processes are right - just that, well I wouldn't want to diss Serious Cat (and would not dare!) but this is a downer with an account .. not a haunter of sigs...
