Hmm... First Age. Not exactly my favourite era, but anyway.

Heal Ulmo, and... hmm. now whom should I choose. From large part, it's all the same... okay, let's say hurt Húrin and Morwen. (For some reason, I don't like either of them that much. And Morwen is in some way... disgusting. Just this unpleasant old hag, even when she was not that old yet, if you get my meaning. But, all the people in the family - except Nienor - give a bit of that vibes, you know. Not somebody I would like to have in my neighbourhood.)

What do you all people have against Thingol? He was quite good character, actually, he was pretty complex. But hurting Ulmo is even worse. That's a blasphemy! I guess he should not have been put into the contest in the first place, because he just doesn't belong here. He's by far the best.

But all right, for now. Heal Ulmo, double hurt Míriel (I don't get what's the point with her, I barely know she even existed - okay, which, of course, may be an argument as well - in some way, poor her; however, I think some far more interesting characters have too few points and she has undeservedly too much).

I must say, right now, I would have preferred rather "heal five people and hurt no one" (there are so many characters already hurt whom I would like to heal), but of course that won't just work if everybody did that. So I just have to take it the way that I am going to hurt everybody but the people I like, and this way make them have more points than others.

What good is there in Miriel anyway? Bit if you like her, keep her.

Hmm.. Silm game doesn't seem as exciting as the LOTR one. I like Silm and have read it several times, but I don't have strong likes and dislikes for Silm characters as I do for LOTR ones… I haven't realized it before, but I don't really care for any of them. Am I the only one?

I said something a bit similar in the beginning, although I cannot relate wholeheartedly to what you say. It's more like that I just don't have that strong likes nor dislikes for Sil characters, indeed, it's not that I don't care at all, and also there are people I am really fond of, but it simply is not as strong as with the LotR (and Hobbit) characters. I think it's just natural in the way that the Sil is not that much about characters, it's primarily a mythology, only with some specific cases (like Beren and Lúthien's tale, and several recurring characters like Thingol or some sons of Fëanor) and tales from the UT and of course the most after the edition of CoH it's better. The CoH actually was a major blow, at last it helped me to feel many of the characters as really far closer to me, otherwise, they were a bit... distant. To sum it up, the Sil's main strength lies not with the characters, but in something else, while LotR relies strongly on the characters.

Anyway, /end thoughtful rant

Yes, but that's actually one of the most interesting of his character moments. At least he has some character. The way he stays behind, he meets with Melian, the way he interacts with her and also with Beren, and last of all, this Dwarf thing... he's a complex character, unlike many others in the Sil. One problem I see with two hurts and one heal is that controversial characters, that are liked by some and hated by others, don't stand a chance and are eliminated early, leaving characters most seem to be indifferent about, which won't make the end of the game more interesting. Maybe something can be done about it in the next round.

Yes, that's exactly true. Although, for example myself, I am doing that the way that I hurt everybody else and keep unharmed those whom I like. So, I will eventually turn to hurt even people I am indifferent about, just because I don't think they deserve to have so many points (which is the case with most of the people in my case anyway, like I said - I am mostly rather indifferent about most people).
