Ok, sorry I was gone and didn't get the message about my invalid formation. Oops. So, the question is, should I conduct my trades now based on the latest valid formation I had used?

Interesting dilemma, Gwath. Hmm... you currently have 3-5-2, so if you traded one of your dead FWs (Miriel or Nerdanel) for a MF, you'd have a legal formation, or you could trade one of your dead MFs (Earendil or Glaurung) for a DF and have a legal formation.
So just work with the roster you have and you should be able to change it just fine with your two allotted trades.

I am just curious, why are 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 illegal formations?

Primarily to encourage diversity. If those formations were legal I figure everyone would use them to minimize defenders and maximize potential scorers. I figure if you're going to use the minimum number of defenders you shouldn't get to pick up more than one forward. Maybe we'll change it for next time, maybe not.
