Galadriel might have been the only one who fully realized what that meant. Thus, she sent the eagle to look for Gandalf. I also note that when one makes a magic item in Tolkien's world, one is putting a bit of one's own strength into the item. If wizard staves have significant power, Galadriel's making a new staff for Gandalf might have been more of a big deal than many realize. |
