No, funnily enough, there isn't. Well... I thought it was funny, anyway.

Here's the intended title picture for the new Downer:
Will the editor dare to tell the true story?!

It's funny that Hookbill changes his avatar and all the Wights on the Downs start buzzing about it! Now you know who is important on the Downs, huh?

I don't know if I've said this before, I probably have, but anyway... I really like the avvie that Lommy has right now, I think it's the best one that I've seen her have. What is that painting from? It sort of looks like you.

Groin, I like your avatar a great deal. What is it, by the way? A dwarf lord rising in glory or something? It's a classic.

i think Groin's is something from the Battle for Middle Earth II game... or it looks very similar to the concept art of it.

Gil-Galad is right, glad to see that you're back Gil! I'm glad to see that it meets your approval, Gollum, the Dwarf that I have for an avvie is King Dain II Ironfoot. He's by far my favorite Dwarf ever!

It doesn't maybe look like me exactly, but it seems to have some sort of similarity - my mum always picked me that postcard because it reminded her of me, and she always forgot she had given or sent me that postcard already...

I like Mithalwen's. It's a poppy correct? Since Armistice Day is upon us. Or is my eye sight getting worse than I thought.

Nothing to do with your eyesight more due to my lack of artistic ability.
Since the Saucepan Man isn't around I thought I would make the effort. Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it. Tomorrow is Remembrance Sunday here. http://www.poppy.org.uk/index.php/flanders.html It is ninety years since the end of WW1 and I have dedicated one of the Flanders' poppies to the memory of my great uncle who died aged seventeen having successfully lied about his age to serve for over a year in the army before transferring to the RFC where he lasted the average 3 days of active service. Just one among so many ....

I must say Mith's avatar is very beautiful. It's more the picture that is beautiful than the lady, or something... I don't know, it just catches my eye every time. Maybe it's just the colours... Anyway, it's a good choice, Mith.

You must give any credit to Lalwende sinceI think this is the portrait of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire that reminds her of me. Not sure I feel it is quite me though...in denial that mad hair and big nose are clearly my distinguishing features

You think she has a big nose? She does in some other portraits, but not in this one. I'd advise against getting a wig and hat like those though, unless you're going to Ascot and you might get away with them then

It's the shiny world of the seven systems. Gallifrey, from the popular (with nerds) British Sci-fi show 'Doctor Who'. The home of the Time Lords. They wear amusing hats.
I feel fully justified in having a Doctor Who avatar because there are MANY Tolkien references in the show.

Not amazingly but it is quite long - as is mine - actually I think that is very like my nose in half profile which is definitely the best angle for me. Straight on it looks broken apparently. . My hair goes a bit like that when it gets rained on but I love the hat Oh and I like Pio's new avatar but I keep thinking it is Lommie...

It isn't .... but once I told someone I had given up playing rugby after a facial injury (actually to my cheekbone, nothing broken but by the time the bruising and swelling had gone I had lost my place in the team and all the other first division sides apart from one were way up north and I couldn't justify lots of all weekend trips to play reserve in finals year ) , and they interrupted with "Oh so that is how you broke your nose!" when I said I had never broken my nose they carried on digging and said "you have to admit it is quite wonky".
The next time I saw my parents ( I was living in France then) we went to a restaurant and I was facing a mirror and grumbling that it was indeed wonky. my dad said there was nothing wrong with it but my mum said that when I was a baby they took me to the doctor because they thought I had a squint and he said it was just an optical illusion caused by the shape of my nose

It startled me for a second, I'm usually used to gaze upon the pink rose that she has has as an avvie. It's like when you ask for Coke but you get Diet Coke instead, the bland taste of diet shocks you when you're expecting the rich sugary goodness of Coke. Not to say that Fea's avvie is bland.

It is very physical but it shouldn't be violent - but some people do take advantage but proper training and refereeing shoul minimise this. My injury was completely my own fault as I got it tackling someone else and got their shoulder in my face. But it was great fun.

I sure that this one has been spoken of before, but the phantom's is just, well cool. That ghosty presence to it matches the Down's personality admirably.
His and Groin's rock.
