Thanks, how about:
"they will look"
p.s. Happy 1000th post to the thread :)
Holbytlass
07-26-2005, 04:54 PM
Aragorn about Boromir after he dies...they will look for his return but he will not come.
The Only Real Estel
07-26-2005, 04:56 PM
Aye that's the one. Your go, Holby.
Holbytlass
07-28-2005, 05:50 AM
'...master ring, to control all others....'
Folwren
07-28-2005, 11:28 AM
Galadriel's naration in the preface of the movie.
'...In the fires of Mount Doom, he created a master ring to control all others.'
Is that right?...I mean, the quote. I'm pretty sure that's where it comes from, but I'm not sure of the quote itself that I just added.
Holbytlass
07-28-2005, 01:11 PM
Yes, it was Galadriel in the preface with the candlestick!! And close enough (if not perfect) for the quote. Your turn Folwren. :)
Folwren
07-28-2005, 01:29 PM
Oh, good. I've been looking forward to doing this one.
"That's mine."
Elianna
07-28-2005, 02:47 PM
It's either Merry or Pippin who says 'That one's mine." concerning mushrooms on the road right before the first meeting with a Ringwraith.
Folwren
07-28-2005, 09:23 PM
Right, right! Your go.
Elianna
07-29-2005, 11:28 AM
"This one doom."
Dimturiel
07-29-2005, 11:32 AM
"Each race is bound to this fate, this one doom." Elrond at the Council.
Elianna
07-29-2005, 03:16 PM
Si. Your turn. While I sing the Doom song, doom doom doom doom dommdomdomdoomdoomdomdoom!
Dimturiel
07-30-2005, 02:26 AM
Intresting song, Elianna. So here it is: "As you wish"
Kitanna
07-30-2005, 10:16 AM
Boromir to Frodo and Aragorn, I think. When they're trying to cross the mountains and Frodo drops the Ring.
Dimturiel
07-30-2005, 11:00 AM
That's right.
Kitanna
07-30-2005, 02:52 PM
Okie dokie
"We shall not meet..."
Here's a hint, in the movie it's said in Elvish
The Only Real Estel
07-30-2005, 03:42 PM
Galadriel to Aragorn in Lothlorien?
Kitanna
07-30-2005, 04:38 PM
Aye, that it is.
The Only Real Estel
07-31-2005, 01:37 PM
Try:
"they have taken"
Folwren
07-31-2005, 03:21 PM
Boromir to Aragorn as he was dying.
"They have taken the little ones!"
The Only Real Estel
07-31-2005, 09:31 PM
Darn, it was said twice. :o
That wasn't the one I was looking for, though...
Kitanna
07-31-2005, 09:44 PM
Gandalf in the Mines of Moria. "They have taken the bridge..." when he's reading about the dwarves.
The Only Real Estel
07-31-2005, 09:49 PM
That’s the one I was thinking of. Sorry about the mixup, Folwren. :o Your go, Kitanna
Kitanna
07-31-2005, 09:54 PM
Okie dokie
"Get some sleep..."
Dimturiel
08-01-2005, 03:46 AM
Aragorn to Frodo one night, when Frodo hears him singing about Luthien and asks him who she is.
Folwren
08-01-2005, 08:27 AM
 Nuts!
Kitanna
08-01-2005, 09:53 AM
Right you are, Dimturiel.
Dimturiel
08-01-2005, 11:12 AM
Try this one: "...I am proud... "
Elianna
08-01-2005, 01:06 PM
Frodo: I am proud of it [cracking]. Cheers Gaffer.
In the Green Dragon in EE.
Dimturiel
08-02-2005, 01:05 AM
Right you are, Elianna.
Elianna
08-02-2005, 07:57 AM
Interestingly enough, I think this is only said once in FotR:
"...the Halfings!"
The Only Real Estel
08-02-2005, 08:38 AM
'Lurtz' to his orcish underlings near the end of the movie?
"Find the Halflings!"
Folwren
08-02-2005, 11:35 AM
Believe it or not, I love that quote, but only because of an hilariously funny joke my little brother made out of it once...
Elianna
08-02-2005, 06:02 PM
Do tell Folwren.
You're right, btw, The Only Real Estel; you're turn.
Folwren
08-02-2005, 08:04 PM
It takes voice inflection, sadly. :D It was the quote... 'Find the Halfings! Argh! Find the Haflings!' but in a rediculously high, squeaky voice, and with him being so young and to be doing that...it was simply hilarious!
The Only Real Estel
08-03-2005, 07:30 AM
Okay:
"I've never heard"
Kitanna
08-03-2005, 10:48 AM
Barliman Butterbur to Frodo. "What his right name is I've never heard..."
The Only Real Estel
08-03-2005, 10:56 AM
That's the one. Your go, Kitanna.
Kitanna
08-03-2005, 11:04 AM
"...we had any hope.”
"It is long since we had any hope."
Which I think is Boromir at the Council of Elrond.
Kitanna
08-03-2005, 12:02 PM
Right person Kath, but wrong scene. But I'm gonna give it to you anyway. So go ahead.
Oh it was in Lothlorien wasn't it.
Next:
I was barely involved
Folwren
08-03-2005, 03:44 PM
Gandalf to Frodo on the cart in The Shire.
'If you're refering to the incident of the Dragon...I was barely involved!'
But of course. Such a liar  :p
Kitanna
08-03-2005, 04:08 PM
Oh it was in Lothlorien wasn't it.
Yes it was.
Folwren
08-04-2005, 07:51 AM
Sorry about the short delay...
"I'm sorry!"
And that's my quote for you all....
Holbytlass
08-04-2005, 08:44 AM
Boromir to Frodo after he tried to take the ring.
Folwren
08-04-2005, 03:10 PM
Yes, that is correct. Sorry again for the delay. Take it away, Holbytlass.
The Only Real Estel
08-04-2005, 03:17 PM
Sorry again for the delay
No problem, Folwren. We've had much longer. :)
Holbytlass
08-04-2005, 05:36 PM
Whoa-ho-ho, up we go....
Folwren
08-04-2005, 08:42 PM
Is that the quote?
Gandalf to the little tykes in the Shire setting of Butterfly fireworks?
Holbytlass
08-05-2005, 06:11 AM
Is that the quote?
Gandalf to the little tykes in the Shire setting of Butterfly fireworks?
That it is! Your turn...
Folwren
08-05-2005, 11:11 AM
"You can learn"
Kitanna
08-05-2005, 11:22 AM
Gandalf to Frodo just before leaving Bag End.
Folwren
08-05-2005, 11:30 AM
Correct.
Kitanna
08-05-2005, 01:20 PM
This is pretty easy:
"Don't worry, Sam..."
The Only Real Estel
08-05-2005, 01:47 PM
Frodo to Sam outside of the Green Dragon?
"Don't worry Sam. Rosie knows an idiot when she sees one."
Kitanna
08-05-2005, 04:48 PM
Aye, that it is.
The Only Real Estel
08-08-2005, 12:28 PM
See Folwren? I just caused a longer delay then you did, & I'm the creator of the quote game.
"carries something"
Dimturiel
08-08-2005, 12:37 PM
Saruman to one of the Uruk-hai: "One of the Haflings carries something of great value."
The Only Real Estel
08-08-2005, 12:38 PM
Yep, go ahead. :)
Dimturiel
08-08-2005, 12:42 PM
Here it goes:"She died" Good luck!
Kitanna
08-08-2005, 01:50 PM
...mmmm, could it be Elrond to Aragorn in Rivendell?
Gurthang
08-08-2005, 02:31 PM
Oh! Oh! I know this one!
It's Aragron to Frodo talking about Luthien, isn't it?
Frodo: "What happened to her?"
Aragorn: "She died."
Dimturiel
08-09-2005, 01:10 AM
Gurthang has it. Well done!
Gurthang
08-09-2005, 11:16 AM
"They're all up in Hobbiton!"
Not real hard, if you don't look try too hard.
Dimturiel
08-09-2005, 11:28 AM
A hobbit said this to a Nazgul when he asked for Baggins.
Gurthang
08-09-2005, 11:35 AM
The question is back to Dimturiel.
Dimturiel
08-09-2005, 12:13 PM
Try this one:"...left or right?"
Kitanna
08-09-2005, 06:15 PM
Frodo to Gandalf as they're leaving Rivendell.
Dimturiel
08-10-2005, 04:49 AM
You're right.
Kitanna
08-10-2005, 08:57 AM
"...been summoned..."
Morsul the Dark
08-10-2005, 08:58 AM
Elrond: you have summoned here to discuss the fate of middle earth
Kitanna
08-10-2005, 11:07 AM
That it is
Morsul the Dark
08-11-2005, 09:01 AM
"we lifted last"
easy one
Gurthang
08-11-2005, 02:56 PM
It was Pippin. Something along the lines of:
"And the mushrooms we lifted last week."
Not sure it was mushrooms, but that's basically it.
Morsul the Dark
08-11-2005, 02:58 PM
yes indeedily-doo
Gurthang
08-11-2005, 03:20 PM
Ok, next quote...
...and I fear from within.
Enjoy! :D
Morsul the Dark
08-11-2005, 03:24 PM
duh...brain fart
Corruption comes from outside the fellowship and i fear from within....someone to frodo...gandalf or galadrial
Gandalf to Frodo outside moria?
The Only Real Estel
08-28-2005, 06:55 PM
I believe Gurthang was going to be having some problems getting on the computer, though those may be over now.
Either way I'm going to go ahead & award Morsul with the floor because he got the last one right.
Morsul the Dark
08-29-2005, 09:33 AM
hmmm....must be tricksy...
"butter spread"
easy enough
"I feel like butter spread over too much bread."
Or something along those lines but it was Bilbo to Gandalf.
Morsul the Dark
08-31-2005, 10:02 AM
exactly go ahead my fine friend
Danke.
". . . we here possess."
Easy but haven't seen it in a while.
Kitanna
08-31-2005, 01:33 PM
Elrond to Gimli at the Council of Elrond, "It cannot be destroyed by any craft we here possess." Or something to that extent.
That's the one! Nice to see you again Kitanna, I haven't been in here in a while. Take it away.
Kitanna
08-31-2005, 04:13 PM
It is wonderful to have you back, Kath. You were gone for some time. :)
"...be hunted..."
Dimturiel
09-01-2005, 12:30 AM
"In her heart your mother knew you will be hunted all your life". Elrond to Aragorn, by Gilraen's grave.
Kitanna
09-01-2005, 09:41 AM
Ja, that it is.
Dimturiel
09-01-2005, 09:55 AM
"...posibly happen". Good luck!
That goes something along the lines of;
"We're still in the Shire Sam, what could possibly happen?"
Which is Frodo to Sam, yes?
The Only Real Estel
09-01-2005, 10:59 AM
Great to have you back, Kath. :)
Dimturiel
09-02-2005, 12:10 AM
Well done, Kath! :) Go ahead.
Thanks Estel! :D
Next:
" . . . saved some for . . ."
Dimturiel
09-02-2005, 11:30 AM
Sam to Frodo on Weathertop: "We've saved some for you, Mr Frodo"
That's right Dimturiel, and very quick! Take it away.
Dimturiel
09-03-2005, 07:20 AM
Tanks. "...no oath"
Morsul the Dark
09-03-2005, 07:28 AM
Elrond to the fellowship as they leave "you take no oath to go further than you wish" or something along those lines
Dimturiel
09-03-2005, 08:01 AM
Wow, that was fast. Go ahead.
Morsul the Dark
09-03-2005, 08:04 AM
"little nudge"
Elianna
09-03-2005, 08:25 AM
"All I did was give your uncle a little nudge out of the door." Gandalf to Frodo
The Only Real Estel
09-07-2005, 05:19 PM
*poke*
Morsul the Dark
09-15-2005, 08:46 AM
that is correct go ahead(sorry for the wait)
Elianna
09-20-2005, 08:10 AM
Let's be a bit sinister: "A tomb."
Koneko
09-20-2005, 11:33 AM
"This is no mine. It is a tomb!" or something to that effect, as said by Boromir in the entrance to the Mines of Moria, yes? I don't think he was actually saying it to anyone...
Elianna
09-22-2005, 11:01 PM
Correct, your turn. :)
Koneko
09-23-2005, 03:12 AM
Yay!
"...other forces at work..."
The Only Real Estel
09-23-2005, 08:25 AM
Gandalf to Frodo in the Mines of Moria.
"There are other forces at work besides those of the will of evil..." or something like that. :)
Koneko
09-23-2005, 08:55 AM
yep! Your go.
Sleepy Ranger
09-27-2005, 07:14 AM
Bump for Estel. :)
The Only Real Estel
09-27-2005, 07:40 AM
Gotta love being bumped on your own thread. :p
"there are many"
That'll have to do for this time. :)
Gurthang
09-27-2005, 07:48 AM
I think that was Boromir:
"Frodo, there are many paths that we might take?"
But as usual, I'm not 100% sure on that.
The Only Real Estel
09-28-2005, 07:19 AM
Darn, it was said twice. That's not the one I was looking for, though... ;)
Dimturiel
09-28-2005, 11:47 AM
"There are many powers in this world, for good or for evil.". Gandalf to Frodo before entering Moria.
The Only Real Estel
09-28-2005, 11:50 AM
Dim has it. Your go.
Dimturiel
09-28-2005, 11:55 AM
...further than you wish.. Enjoy!
Kitanna
09-28-2005, 01:10 PM
Elrond to the Fellowship just before they leave Rivendel
Dimturiel
09-29-2005, 11:16 AM
That's right!
Kitanna
09-29-2005, 02:03 PM
"He'll come."
Not feeling in the mood to find a hard one...but then again I never do.
Hiriel
09-29-2005, 06:49 PM
Sam to Frodo, I think, on Gandalf's absence from the Pracing Pony.
Kitanna
09-29-2005, 10:44 PM
That would be it.
Hiriel
10-06-2005, 05:57 PM
Thanks. Ok,
" Back off, or I'll have you..."
Back off, or I'll have you Longshanks.
Which is Sam to Aragorn in The Prancing Pony.
Hiriel
10-07-2005, 07:03 PM
Yup. Your thread. :)
Why thank you fellow Lost fan :D
". . . pointy hat."
Kitanna
10-08-2005, 09:58 AM
Butterbur to the Hobbits in Bree.
Well yes it was but aren't we supposed to put the rest of the quote? Congrats on your PT by the way - you kept that quiet!
Kitanna
10-09-2005, 08:12 AM
Well yes it was but aren't we supposed to put the rest of the quote? Congrats on your PT by the way - you kept that quiet!
A) I'm quite lazy to put the whole quote
B) Thank you, and I'm sneaky keeping my PT a secret...Congrats to you too! :)
back on topic! Next quote:
...our luck holds...
Dimturiel
10-09-2005, 11:31 AM
If our luck holds, the Gap of Rohan will still be opened to us Gandalf to Gimli at the beggining of the journey
Kitanna
10-09-2005, 12:35 PM
That would be it.
Dimturiel
10-10-2005, 11:09 AM
Thanks. Nice PT, by the way. none of us
Ellewen
10-11-2005, 04:22 PM
Sorry if I'm intruding but I think I have it!
Oringinal post... none of us...
Finished quote "None of us should wander alone, you least of all."
Made by Boromir when collecting fire wood.
Dimturiel
10-12-2005, 11:39 AM
No, sorry but not that.
Kitanna
10-12-2005, 12:20 PM
Perhaps Aragorn at the Council of Elrond? "None of us can, the Ring answers to Sauron alone"
The Only Real Estel
10-13-2005, 10:04 AM
Just stepping in to post a quick note:
As to giving the whole quote with your guess it's not any actual rule, though there's certainly nothing wrong with it. Pretty much the only rule is who said it, to whom, & where; you can add the whole quote if you want. :)
On another threadly note I suspect that Kitanna has the quote, but we'll wait for Dim's verdict.
Dimturiel
10-13-2005, 11:15 AM
Yes, Kitanna, indeed you have it. Go ahead.
Kitanna
10-13-2005, 12:04 PM
Thanks
...some strange folk crossing...
Have at it.
The Only Real Estel
10-21-2005, 07:09 AM
One of the older hobbits at the Sam-Gaffer-Frodo-Sandyman-etc. table in the Green Dragon at the start of FotR?
some strange folk crossing the Shire
or something to that effect?
Kitanna
10-21-2005, 07:13 AM
Yeah, that's it.
The Only Real Estel
10-22-2005, 06:49 PM
Okay, try:
"we're all right"
Captain Grishnahk
12-16-2005, 11:50 AM
I have all the movies memeorised, even the small tiny words in the background of The Hill.
"No wait! We're allright! I just found some sponge-cake!!!"
Bilbo to Gandalf (or to himself)
The Only Real Estel
12-16-2005, 12:23 PM
That’s the one. Your go (and welcome to the game Captain). :)
Captain Grishnahk
12-16-2005, 12:38 PM
Thanks... :)
"...was not in vain. Do not carry...."
;) good luck
Dimturiel
12-16-2005, 01:00 PM
Gandalf's death was not in vain. You carry a heavy burden, Frodo. Don't carry it away to the dead. Boromir to Frodo in Lothlorien.
Captain Grishnahk
12-17-2005, 11:57 AM
Great! Your turn (this is war!) ;)
Dimturiel
12-17-2005, 01:06 PM
in our hands Good luck!
Captain Grishnahk
12-17-2005, 04:18 PM
Aragorn says this to Gimli and Legolas after Frodo leaves. Somthing about Frodo's fate no longer being in their hands i beleive.
Dimturiel
12-18-2005, 12:16 PM
You believe correctly. Take over.
Captain Grishnahk
12-18-2005, 09:15 PM
"...i can not see it"
Kitanna
12-18-2005, 11:22 PM
Boromir to Aragorn in Lothlorien perhaps, "If there is any hope I cannot see it." or something to that extent.
Captain Grishnahk
12-21-2005, 09:15 AM
Correct, your turn...
Kitanna
12-21-2005, 10:50 AM
"...were none of..."
The Only Real Estel
12-27-2005, 12:07 PM
Hmmm, a hint, maybe?
Kitanna
12-27-2005, 12:20 PM
It was said shortly after Gandalf fell.
The Only Real Estel
12-27-2005, 02:13 PM
Galadriel to the Fellowship in Lothlorien:
"Needless were none of Gandalf's deeds in life..."
Kitanna
12-27-2005, 05:49 PM
That's it.
The Only Real Estel
01-01-2006, 05:24 PM
"then will you go"
Fairly easy, so go for it! :)
Kitanna
01-02-2006, 12:16 AM
Saruman to himself, I guess. "Where then will you go if the mountain defeats you."
The Only Real Estel
01-03-2006, 11:01 AM
Yep.
Kitanna
01-03-2006, 11:57 AM
"...when did..."
gralin musicteeth
01-17-2006, 06:24 AM
Gandalf says something along the lines of : "tell me, when did Saruman the wise abandon reason for madness?"
I can't rightly remember, but I think that's pretty close.
Kitanna
01-17-2006, 10:03 AM
That would be correct
gralin musicteeth
01-17-2006, 03:41 PM
Yay! My turn!
So there I was...
Dimturiel
01-18-2006, 10:50 AM
So there I was, at the mercy of three monstrous trolls. Bilbo frightening some little hobbitses at his party. :D
gralin musicteeth
01-19-2006, 07:29 PM
That's it indeed. Gold Star for Dimturiel!
Dimturiel
01-20-2006, 11:14 AM
Thank you very much!you are not
Kitanna
01-23-2006, 11:15 AM
You are not yourself
Frodo to Boromir, possibly...
Dimturiel
01-23-2006, 01:29 PM
Aye, you are right.
Kitanna
01-23-2006, 02:01 PM
"That is not..."
have at it.
gralin musicteeth
01-24-2006, 08:40 AM
Gandalf says something like...
"So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide."
to Frodo in Moria
Kitanna
01-24-2006, 11:04 AM
Yup, all your's gralin
gralin musicteeth
01-25-2006, 08:46 AM
...before I see ...
Pretty easy, but I haven't seen the movie in some time and I don't remember very many more lines.
Kitanna
02-02-2006, 03:16 PM
Gimli at the Council of Elrond "I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an elf"
gralin musicteeth
02-06-2006, 09:08 AM
Very good. Your turn.
Kitanna
02-06-2006, 09:24 AM
Okie dokie, this will easy because I can't think of a harder one.
"...little more caution..."
Dimturiel
02-08-2006, 06:06 AM
Strider to Frodo in the Prancing Pony.
Kitanna
02-08-2006, 08:26 AM
Ja, take it away, Dimturiel.
Dimturiel
02-08-2006, 09:11 AM

The Only Real Estel

Gollum to Frodo on Mount Doom...
"Thought it could get away? Did he Precios? (sp!!) Not this time! Not this time"
I can almost hear Andy Sirkis say it even if it is wrong.
Kitanna
02-16-2006, 02:14 PM
Or is it Frodo to Sam at the end when he's paddling his little Hobbit heart out to get across the river?

Ellewen

The "EE"? What is that? If it gives away the answer don't tell me...

Aragorn to Sam.Talking about Bill the Pony at the Door of Moria?

Kitanna
04-11-2006, 08:26 PM
Good guess, and it would be the correct one. Your go.

Hope this is okay! :p
Well, with 1,221 replies we've probably done just about all of the quotes by now so it probably has already been used but that's no problem at all. As long as we're not using the same quotes within a few pages of themselves. :D
It was fine. :)
Taralphiel
04-13-2006, 07:22 PM
Ah, thank you!
Yes, you're right! Pippin to Frodo on Weathertop! :D

Tuor in Gondolin
04-15-2006, 01:51 PM
I kept thinking this was Merry or Pippin,
but I believe it's Frodo (in one of his rare
movie assertive moments) chiding the others
for lighting a fire on Amon Sul, and putting it out.
Lote22
04-15-2006, 03:41 PM
That might be right but thats not what I was thinking.
Do you want to give it another try??
Lote22
04-17-2006, 10:27 AM
Ok well I'll give a hint.
It was said before Frodo left the Shire.
Hope that helps.
:D
Hmm, Frodo to Gandalf when he throws the envelope containing the Ring into the fire?

Taralphiel
04-18-2006, 07:40 PM
*another rough guess* :P
Gandalf telling Frodo and Sam to wait for the 'cover of darkness' before leaving the Shire for Bree?
Tara :)
Kitanna
04-18-2006, 09:44 PM
I'm afraid that's not the quote I had in mind.
Taralphiel
04-18-2006, 10:41 PM
Bother! :P
*scours her teensy brain, trying to remeber*
Perhaps I was wrong and it's Aragorn to the Hobbits? I think I'm only making myself more confused.....*giggles*
Ellewen
04-19-2006, 01:13 PM
Aragorn telling Legolas his plans perhaps?

The "Random Hobbit" is acctually Farmer Maggot.

05-03-2007, 07:24 PM
Well, it's been over ten days...

This quote is said at least twice. If possible, I'd like both.
