Beanamir of Gondor

What are you doing?
Frodo to the other hobbits on Weathertop: What are you doing? Put it out, you fools, put it out!
Sam after the Weathertop incident: What are you doing? Those wraiths are still out there!

Can't think of any more... though it is a pretty common quote. :P

Finduilas
05-13-2007, 05:54 AM
Right! Those were the two I was thinking of. There is another in TTT but this if FotR qoutes. Go ahead, when ever you're ready.

UBEREASY

"Is still in"
Gandalf: Bilbo... The ring is still in your pocket.

I know that one's expired but i'm still trying my hand ;)

It's been over ten days so here is mine!
So here you go!

"You are"

It's been over ten days so here is mine!
So here you go!

"You are"

many times.
Saruman: You are sure of this?
Gandalf's voice: You are in the house of Elrond.
Arwen: Why do you fear the past? You are Isildur's heir, not Isildur himself. You are not bound to his fate

I'm sure there are many more, but i can't for the moment remember them.

Narawen_Eluchil
07-10-2007, 10:00 AM
Yep!!

"You are Isildur's heir, not Isildur's himself. You are not bound to his fate!"

sallkid
07-13-2007, 11:21 AM
brillo! Here it is...

"...beyond all of you"

Finduilas
08-11-2007, 04:29 PM
"This foe is beyond any of you."

Gandalf to the Fellowship about the Balrog.

sallkid
08-12-2007, 06:30 AM

"Our business is"

Folwren
08-13-2007, 08:17 AM
I just read this yesterday, so it's not really fair...but I think it's -

"We wish to stay at the inn. Our business is our own."

Frodo says it to Harry, the Gatekeeper.

Finduilas
08-13-2007, 09:21 AM
Well, well, well. I thought Folwren thought it was a waste of time to play such silly games on the Barrowdowns.:p:)

Right, of course.

Folwren
08-13-2007, 10:01 AM
And so it is, when you spend an hour browsing all the current games. But I happened to see this in passing, with your name on the front page, so how could I resist?

But mind your manners, please.

Thank you.

"But to let"

Finduilas
08-13-2007, 11:32 AM
"But to let that fear drive you to destroy what hope you have, don't you see? It's madness."

Boromir to Frodo.

And I always mind my manners.::D

Folwren
08-13-2007, 12:14 PM
Stuff and nonsense.

Correct. Take 'er away.

Finduilas
08-13-2007, 03:41 PM
"You do this"

Take 'er away.

So its a she?

Folwren
08-14-2007, 07:47 AM
"Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly."
-- Boromir to the Council

Finduilas
08-14-2007, 02:37 PM
:D Yep.

All yours.

Folwren
08-14-2007, 02:54 PM
"No one will"

Finduilas
08-14-2007, 03:00 PM
Galadriel to Frodo.

"If you do not find a way, no one will."

Folwren
08-16-2007, 08:15 AM
Yes. Go 'head.

Finduilas
08-16-2007, 12:10 PM
Rightio.

"I am not"

Folwren
08-16-2007, 12:30 PM
"Bilbo Baggins!" Gandalf thundered. "Do not take me for some conjurer of cheap tricks! I am not trying to rob you!" The darkness passed and he dwindled again into a tired, old man. "I'm trying to help you."

Finduilas
08-16-2007, 12:32 PM
My dear chap, notice the thread you are on. FOTR movie quotes.

Right, of course.

Folwren
08-16-2007, 12:34 PM
That was not from the book! I wrote down the quote from the movie and I thought to myself "Hey...this needs some emotion put in" and so I narrated it to you.

My next one:

"It was only"

Finduilas
08-16-2007, 12:41 PM
"It was only a bit of fun." Bilbo to Gandalf, and I was talking about the "The darkness passed and he dwindled again into a tired, old man." even though it might not be exact, was certianly meant to sound bookish.

Folwren
08-16-2007, 12:43 PM
Indeed it was meant to sound bookish.

Correct.

Finduilas
08-16-2007, 12:50 PM
"they're not"

Folwren
08-16-2007, 12:56 PM
"They're not all accounted for." Gandalf to Saruman, about the Lost Seeing Stones

Finduilas
08-16-2007, 12:58 PM
Yep.

Folwren
08-16-2007, 01:02 PM
Wow! Really? I wasn't expecting that to be right...

"even one so"

Finduilas
08-16-2007, 01:49 PM
"A mine is no place for a pony, not even one so brave as Bill."

Aragorn to Sam.

Folwren
08-16-2007, 01:50 PM
Yes. Go 'head.

Finduilas
08-16-2007, 01:53 PM
"you're not"

And yes this is different than the last one.

Folwren
08-16-2007, 02:10 PM
If this is it, I'm not going to be pleased....

"You are Isildur's heir, not Isildur himself. You are not bound to his fate."

Finduilas
08-16-2007, 02:18 PM
Nope. I believe that in the quote it is abbreviated into "you're".

TheGreatElvenWarrior
12-28-2007, 08:30 PM
How are you supposed to tell unless you look at the script?

Folwren
12-28-2007, 09:41 PM
No, no, no, no, no. If you look at the script, it could be totally different than what was in the movie. Actors don't always adhere exactly to the written words, y'know.

But since it's been a couple months since Fin or I last posted, you can post a quote, dear Elven Warrior.

TheGreatElvenWarrior
12-30-2007, 08:31 PM

But since it's been a couple months since Fin or I last posted, you can post a quote, dear Elven Warrior.Yes I know that actors ans actresses don't always say exactly whats on the script!(I happen to be one and I have said the wrong lines a couple of times or have changed the line because I forgot a prop(never do that))

Coolness I've always wanted to post a quote...

so here it goes...

"Outside"

Finduilas
12-31-2007, 11:30 AM
"Outside"

Merry says it to Pippin about the firework. You're supposed to stick them in the ground, as we all know, but also, outside.

TheGreatElvenWarrior
12-31-2007, 01:25 PM
Darn! You're good, I thought I would get you (or anyone else for that matter) with that one!Next time I'll do something harder!

Your turn:D

Folwren
12-31-2007, 01:44 PM
Well, you had me. And when I couldn't figure it out from the top of my head immediately, I decided to do something else for a while before trying to think of it...and maybe by then someone would have guessed. And lo and behold! Someone did!

It was a good quote, TGEW.

Finduilas
12-31-2007, 03:25 PM

mwahahaha! Yes, it was indeed a good quote.

Here goes.

"betrayed us"

TheGreatElvenWarrior
12-31-2007, 05:54 PM
Oh, I'm stumped... I guess I don't know those movies quite as well as I thought I did.

Folwren
12-31-2007, 06:21 PM
Fin, dear, you're not thinking of the Two Towers quote -

"Master betrayed us!"

When Gollum is with Faramir.

I sincerely hope not.

Finduilas
12-31-2007, 06:53 PM
Fin, dear, you're not thinking of the Two Towers quote -

"Master betrayed us!"

When Gollum is with Faramir.

Silly goose! Of course not! I'm scandalized that you would even think I would make such a mistake! ;) When I wrote that I knew it would sound like a Gollum quote.

TheGreatElvenWarrior
12-31-2007, 07:01 PM
It does sound like so!

Folwren
01-01-2008, 07:05 PM
A'right I got it.

"And Sauruman, you tell me, has betrayed us. Our list of allies grows thin!"

Elrond to Gandalf whilst discussing Frodo, the Ring, their course of action, and all the rest in Rivendel.

TheGreatElvenWarrior
01-01-2008, 07:07 PM
A'right I got it.

"And Sauruman, you tell me, has betrayed us. Our list of allies grows thin!"

Elrond to Gandalf whilst discussing Frodo, the Ring, their course of action, and all the rest in Rivendel.Hmm.. Yes that is probably what it is.

Finduilas

"And Sauruman, you tell me, has betrayed us. Our list of allies grows thin!"

Elrond to Gandalf whilst discussing Frodo, the Ring, their course of action, and all the rest in Rivendel.

Right. Yes indeed. So sorry I didn't get back. I thought I had checked this thread....

Folwren
01-04-2008, 12:03 PM
Excellent. Thank you.

that have not

TheGreatElvenWarrior
01-05-2008, 06:58 PM
The mirror shows many things. Things that were, things that are, and some things that have not yet come to pass.
-Galadriel talking to Frodo of what he will see in the mirror.

Folwren
01-05-2008, 07:12 PM
Correct! Take 'er away!

TheGreatElvenWarrior
01-05-2008, 07:19 PM
I guess it would be mean if I said my quote was "Frodo", now wouldn't it...
so here's my quote..
"On your"

TheGreatElvenWarrior
01-08-2008, 07:48 PM
Do you guys need a hint, or the rest of the quote... If I gave you the rest of the quote it might be too easy though!;)

Folwren
01-10-2008, 11:54 AM
Is the rest of the quote one more word? I think three words is best...

I can't think. I haven't seen the movie in forever and I'm so busy that I can't really sit down and concentrate on it for long periods of time.

Gwathagor
01-10-2008, 11:27 PM
"On your feet, Sam."
-Aragorn to Sam, during post-Moria depression phase

TheGreatElvenWarrior
01-10-2008, 11:44 PM
Darn! You got it. I can't believe it took you that long though, but it is great that you got it!

Gwathagor
01-11-2008, 12:30 AM
Not THAT long...I only looked in today for the first time.

I'll pop back on when I can think of a decent movie quote. I haven't watched FotR in veeeeery long while.

TheGreatElvenWarrior
01-26-2008, 01:53 AM
Well, you did very well then, especially if you haven't watched FotR for a long time... but I still think it'd be funny if someone put their quote down as "Frodo"!

Gwathagor
01-26-2008, 01:55 AM
I'm sorry, I forgot all about this thread. Someone else had better take it.

TheGreatElvenWarrior
01-26-2008, 02:05 AM
I could take it again! :D I'd be more than happy to!

Tuor in Gondolin
05-11-2008, 09:02 PM
Let's start this thread up again.
That was not so courteous.

Kitanna
05-11-2008, 11:16 PM

Tuor in Gondolin
05-12-2008, 01:42 PM

(In the extended dvd).

Kitanna
05-18-2008, 12:03 PM

"I carry nothing."

Dimturiel
05-18-2008, 12:26 PM

Dimturiel

Folwren
05-19-2008, 09:42 AM
"Where are you taking us?"

"Into the wild."

Aragorn to the Hobbits whilst leaving Bree.

Dimturiel
05-19-2008, 11:03 AM
Yup. Go ahead.

Folwren
05-19-2008, 11:32 AM
Alrighty...

"your own strength"

Dimturiel
05-21-2008, 12:18 PM
"Trust your own strength", or something along these lines. Gandalf to Frodo before entering Moria.

Folwren
06-14-2008, 09:28 PM
Correct. Sorry for not checking this. I got busy and forgot all about it.

Dimturiel
06-15-2008, 11:03 AM
No problem.:)called home

Folwren
06-30-2008, 04:41 PM
"Have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets?"

Boromir to Aragorn in Lorien.

Dimturiel
07-01-2008, 01:45 AM
Right. That's the one.

Folwren
07-01-2008, 07:43 AM
"to let that"

Arendil15
12-11-2010, 11:40 AM
Gosh, another quote in a dead game that I can't resist answering...

That is Boromir talking to Frodo...something about not letting that fear drive us....
